We are still planning a spring litter!

Now is a great time to get on the waitlist for a puppy.

We like to do videos and offer changing information on the puppies growth and personalities over the weeks before they are ready for their new homes. Having a waitlist allows us to help pair our pups with the best homes for their personalities. It allows us to get to know the buyers and help them choose the best puppy for their lifestyle.
Being on the waitlist is also good for the buyer. The higher up on the list you are the more likely you will be to get one of the next litter of pups. It allows you to get updates, such as pictures and video, of the puppies progress directly to your inbox. Those on the waitlist, with all forms filled out and submitted, will have the chance to video conference with the breeder as they choose their puppy and watch it grow. Video calls with distant buyers and in person visits with local ones are necessary to make sure it will be a good fit for both puppy and family.

Cold-tolerant dog breeds tend to have long thick coats, with dense undercoats. These dog breeds also tend to be large and giant breed dogs with robust frames and thick layers of protective fat.

Which GSP owners KNOW is not their dog!
GSP's can adapt to cold weather to a certain extent but they do not have the thick coats or undercoats of other breeds. It's important as owners to help our dogs adapt to the cold winters of northern climates, such as Alberta, Canada, where Echo Point Kennels resides.

German Short Hair Pointers have an abundance of energy. During the cold winter months, we love to set up play dates to help wear out their energy.

They can make a huge mess if not supervised......or laughingly supervised like the video.

Summer is always fun when we get the German Short Hair Pointers playing in the river.

While we do not suggest throwing rocks where the dogs may actually get them......our girl loves swimming to where the rocks splash.
Echo will literally swim in one spot against the current, which is great exercise.

We may be disappointed that our breeder Delta did not catch this time, but that won't stop us from enjoying videos of previous litters!

Why would you do as this post suggests?

One of the best reasons is that puppies go through fear stages, and we don't always know when that is going to happen. Socialize your GSP puppy with family, friends and carefully in public places. Allowing the little one make the first move will help build your puppies confidence with strangers. Hold off on meeting strange dogs or walks in a public dog park until your new family member has had their full course of shots.

German Short Hair Pointers tend to run hot, and they often get cold.
Things like frostbite are a very real issue for all animals and the GSP is no different.
Here the owner was looking for a way to prevent further frostbite to this pup's ears.
Cute, Funny, and protective.

Well, it appears that our girl Delta is not pregnant.

She was gaining weight, getting fuller ni***es, and acting like she was nesting.
Looks like she is following in her mother's paw prints. Echo had pseudo pregnancies and now it looks like Delta is going to carry on the family tradition!

We will be awaiting her next heat and a Spring litter, so stay tuned!
