I love the look on Libby’s face when Remi surprises her with his “mind reading” ability.

This is what we’re aiming for with “clicker“ training. Remi has learned to offer all kinds of behavior as he tries to figure out what I’m wanting him to do.

Our granddaughter, Libby, dumped Remi’s toy bucket over to see if she could teach him a new trick. Even with Sylvie trying to grab his reward he could stay focused.

Tried something new today: “Tidy up“ but with a super “high value” treat. Normally Remi does really well but it was too hard to concentrate with a bully stick reward in view.

At 11 weeks old, it only took Remi 3 days to learn to stay out of our bedroom. (The only carpet area) Of course he tests it once in a while, but I remind him the rule still applies.
At 4 months old, here’s a 10 minute test while I showered and left him unsupervised. (only 24 seconds time lapse)

Training Tip: “displacement behavior”commonly occurs when puppy has had enough, doesn’t know what you’re asking, or simply doesn’t want to obey; just wait it out, and if all else fails, finish by getting him to do something else.
