This all started when I asked my husband if he could cut out a design if I drew it on metal. We were both impressed by the results, and soon came to realize that others were too. Horses are a way of life and one that easily stirs passion and excitement. I've grown up learning and appreciating all the things we ask horses to do and how they work with us. Every discipline out there has its own group
of devoted fans, but all of us can say we love the horse. Every time I sit down to draw, it is a chance to show the world the beauty of one moment or one style. I hope others can hang up these pieces and appreciate what it captures. Just one more unforeseen reason the Lord brought us together. His knowledge of metal and equipment (with some artistic talent as well) and my long time hobby of drawing have come together to create these awesome pieces of art. The options are endless and we are continually learning and growing. "Broke In Designs"
Curious as to how we chose this name? Our name represents many personal meanings. As much as I love the horse, my art is open to possibilities outside the equine and I hope to try a few things (hence no direct horse related words). However I feel our designs are quite "Broke In" and just feel/look good, like a pair of broke in boots, broke in jeans. Of course I like to think our skill is from lots of experience in life already and we are almost well trained, or "broke" to this. Not to mention a lot of the horses we are creating are depicting the essence of a well Broke horse (it does refer to the horse!)
Last but not least, The name in it self sounds like "broken". As we start new ventures together we hope to keep humble and honest relations . Both Mick and I admit to being broken (imperfect people) living in a broken world, just trying to follow Gods plan in life. We try to put our trust in his timing and outcomes in everything. What a ride life has been because of him so far! We hope you enjoy what you see, and hope even more to hear from you soon! Mick & Nina Thiessen
