Relax day due to migraine- lemme tell ya it's had to cover a chair with a sheet when there's a puppy jumping into the chair at the same time!!!

Hydra Graduated from the Patio Pups training class! He already does pretty great in restaurants, but doing a group class with other dogs that aren't service dogs, and behave differently is a great experience for him.

Camping day 2! We didn't have a campfire because of a fire ban but that's okay because I wanted to try out my hiking burner and things before we actually need them. It worked great- I had italian wedding soup for breakfast (don't judge!) and used all my ultralight pots, burner and fuel.

After we left the trail because 10 people showed up, with dogs, and I didn't really want to hike in that kind of crowd- my goal was to stay away from everybody because I really needed to decompress from daily school which is real hard on me.

We found another area and hiked in a few kilometres and found wild strawberries, a Red Sided Garter snake and a Sand hill crane- Hydra noticed not one of these things LOL. We also had a fellow on a horse show up and talk to us, and even though Hydra has never been that close to a horse before he did great.

Hydra's first camping trip! Day 1. Little man has never camped overnight anywhere so I figured it was time. Probably should have done it sooner actually- but I didn't have the time, and frankly I didn't have the energy but it's an experience he needs, and I really needed to get away from people and stress too. I haven't been posting as much because I just have been overwhelmed with training (dog) my school training and life in general. This was a good trip to take.

Anyhow, we camped out at a trail head in the SUV- I really wish I could have brought my bike out, but I don't have a hitch on my SUV to haul it and it's a heavy bike. We still walked up as far as we could before nightfall. We didn't quite make it to the falls because it was getting too late to keep going and I didn't want to try hiking in the dark, with bears.

Hydra was on high alert when we crawled into the back to sleep- I think he thought we were going to keep driving maybe after a nap- after an hour he realized we were staying the night and finally curled up next to me to also sleep. We didn't sleep great- mostly because I forgot my pillow and was restless because of it. I hurt my neck when I got injured at work so finding a pillow that worked for me was a challenge, and forgetting it at home made for a awkward uncomfortable night. But despite it we had a great hike and evening.

We've Been helping Grandma out a lot lately in her garden- wish we had before pictures! I've been finding all the old decorations and things and bringing them home, cleaning them, repainting them and taking them back. It's been fun doing all the painting- the weeding and stuff less so, but it gives a home to all my extra plants too.

Giant Harvest alert!!!! I planted cheddar cauliflower and it's made cauliflower! huge yields lol. Our weather has been all over the place and stressed the plants- I don't think I'll get a good yield this year. I'll let a few go to seed to watch the magic and have a couple dippy vegetables I guess?

We got a free leather couch off of marketplace- it turns out that Jon's hobby of swinging swords also involves a lot of leather- so up cycling an old couch makes for free leather, and gives a bit of leather a second life. (leather is used to tie armour pieces on, and over brigandine armour plates) Hydra sat on the couch while we carefully dissected it...lol

After the pizza party little man got a pup cup for being awesome. He works hard, and tries even harder to be a great doggo- he deserves rewards and fun.

Pizza party!!! We were invited to a pizza party for our self defense/kung fu/tai chi class. We aren't in all those classes lol, but we do take one- so we came to celebrate. Someone brought their cat, and kitty was trying to get Hydra- to try some kitty kung fu on his face. Poor man was worried the cat would get him but did really well, and I am glad he is a smaller dog because I had to pick him up to save him once. All in all it was a good get together and Hydra got to practice his good manners with cats, kids and food.

Been struggling with a lack of energy so haven't really posted lately... But I managed to get a hike in! We went down to the river, and apparently we can't have fun in the river- they don't even want people walking in the water. Guess we are going to have to find a non water area to hike lol- it's getting very hot out so might have to see about going more into the mountains when I can.
