In the year 2000, a few animals lovers got together and formed a small association called Pet Save. They were a committed group of people who appreciated the value of animals in their lives and just wanted to help a few dogs in need of a second chance. Originally Pet Save only rescued dogs but by 2002, recognizing they lived in a community with a severe cat overpopulation problem, they began to ta

ke in stray cats. Operating on the principle that all life is precious, they were proud that they were the only “no kill” shelter operating in this community.It was shocking to learn how many family pets were seen as disposable and how many ended their short lives in local pounds or on our city streets. The need for this rescue group was overwhelming and in 2003, they became a registered charity. The first few years were overwhelming as it was very hard to hear a sad story and do nothing about it. Pet Save quickly grew to over 200 volunteers and today we, Pet Save, are still 100% volunteer and proud of our “NO KILL” policy. We have saved over 2500 cats, dogs, bunnies and even a few pot-belly pigs along the way.We continue to grow each year and hope one day there will no longer be a need for rescue groups like us. 😻 Meet Keylani, a 4 ½ year old sweetheart with a gentle spirit.

Keylani has spent the last while blossoming in foster, showing what a loyal and affectionate companion he can be. His foster parent says he is a “good boy” and treasures his company.

Keylani’s future family will need to help him continue his health routine. He's on a special urinary tract diet and prefers to drink from a fountain, which keeps him hydrated and thriving. Beyond that, he's an easygoing kitty who loves naps, snacks, and spending time in his cat trees by the window where he can soak up sunshine and watch the world go by.

He enjoys toys now and then, but his true loves are comfort, routine, and being close to his people.

Baron has to go back to the shelter this week unless he can find a new foster (or forever) home! 🥀

Three months in a foster home have transformed Baron from trembling and terrified to curious and cuddly! He does still need time to fully shed his skittish ways and would love to continue to do so in a home. He has quite a bit of energy and really wants/needs a playmate 🧶😺... his current feline foster sister is not interested in the role.

🐈 Meet Buddy — a big, gentle boy with a heart as solid as his size!

Buddy is about as loyal as they come. He’s been living quietly with his foster mom for nearly a year, and he’s gotten used to a calm, peaceful life. He’s not one for chaos or loud households — instead, he would thrive in a quiet home where he can stretch out, relax, and enjoy being near his person.

Though he’s not a fan of being picked up, Buddy makes up for it with his love of being brushed and petted. He’ll happily sit or lay beside you, keeping you company like the steady, comforting presence he is. He’s not a high-energy cat — he prefers the simple joys of life, like mealtime (he especially loves his wet food!) and the occasional play session.

Buddy hasn’t had much exposure to kids or other cats, and he definitely doesn’t enjoy dogs. For that reason, he’s looking for a home where he can be the king of his castle — just him and his favorite humans.

Poppy is a stunning 3-year-old black beauty with a glossy coat (she adores brushing sessions!) and golden-yellow eyes that light up when she looks at you. She’s not just a pretty face though — she’s full of charm, love, and playfulness.

It took them time, patience, and love to feel safe — but once their personalities emerged, their foster realized these two are absolutely full of love, quirks, and charm.

🌟 About Snowpea

* Long, lean, and vocal with adorable black spots on his nose and chin.
* Chatty and bold — he’s the talker of the two and makes sure you know when it’s mealtime!
* Loves snuggles on his terms (not a fan of being picked up just yet).

🐾 Meet Kneissa – The Gentle Soul with a Big Heart

Kneissa’s story began as a tiny, scared, and feral kitten who wasn’t sure she could trust the world. With patience and love, she has blossomed into a cat who chooses her people carefully — and once she accepts you, her loyalty and affection run deep.

Kneissa is very much a lap cat. She adores snuggling and will happily plant herself right on top of you, or curl up beside you on the bed — sometimes at your feet, sometimes on your chest. She’s not a fan of being held or coddled, but she shows her love in her own sweet way, always close by, always present.

This thoughtful girl has a routine-loving nature. Every morning, she makes sure all her housemates are fed — even the friendly squirrel who visits daily for peanuts. She’s shy around strangers and doesn’t always show well at first, but with time and trust, she reveals her incredibly affectionate side.

Kneissa does well with other cats, though she prefers calm company over aggressive personalities. She has a soft spot for younger feline friends, keeping an eye on them and making sure they’re staying in line. Dogs are unknown territory for her, and given her nervousness, a dog-free home would likely suit her best.

It's time to bring some attention back to this sleek and shiny sweetheart! Azriel is three years old and is very confident and affectionate.
