The CHIC DNA Repository collects and stores canine DNA samples along with corresponding pedigree and health history information to facilitate future research and testing aimed at reducing the incidence of inherited disease in dogs.
The program objectives are:
- Facilitate more rapid research progress by expediting the sample collection process
- Provide researchers with optimized family groups needed for research
- Allow breeders to take advantage of future DNA based disease tests as they become available
- Foster a team environment between breeders/owners and the research community improving the likelihood of genetic discovery

Yesterday at the Elgin County Kennel Club dog show, Mabel earned her first point under judge Grace Fritz.

Trust your breeders to pick your puppy, or at least give you an option between to puppies, depending on their temperament and energy levels. Vs only what you see after a visit or two.

When we punish dogs for growling, even if they’re growling at our child, we aren’t helping them feel better about whatever it is that is threatening them. Instead, we are teaching to stop letting us know when they feel unsafe.

The result? A dog who stops giving us warning signs and “bites out of the blue.”
And, that’s how we create dangerous dogs. I’d much rather have a dog growl and tell me they’re upset (so we have a chance to intervene and help them) than a dog who just bites without any warning signs.

Pivotal Poodles occasionally produces purebred, sporty, small standard poodle puppies in brown and black. We did not start with any intention to breed, but decided to take the plunge to continue the lines we value, so that we can have dogs we love for the rest of our lives.

Mabel’s first CKC show weekend went very well. She was a good girl over all with all the new things she experienced. And today she earned reserve winners b$tch.

The puppies got to meet some new dog friends while they where here for grooming, and had some fun. Tofu and Kiwi are still looking for their forever homes. For details and the puppy application please check out sereiapoodles.ca
