Larry, Curly, Moe - Available for adoption (separately or together)
8 months old [as of the writing of this post, Sept 5/2024]
Fostered in Delhi, Ontario

Hi! We are Larry, Curly, and Moe! A sweet sibling set who has been in foster care for 149 days. While we have been together our entire lives, we are content to be adopted in homes separately, but if you're looking for multiple cats, we think that would be pretty fun, too!

We all have the most beautiful grey coats with stunning yellow eyes that we hope will capture the attention of some humans who may want to take us home. We are in a sweet spot where we're no longer crazy kittens, but not quite adult cats either. The perfect mix of adventurous and playful without the kitten crazies.

Want to learn more about us? Keep reading below!

Larry: Known as the "older brother" of the siblings, Larry is calmer and more laid back than his brothers. He loves to lay back and look out the window and watch what's going on in the world outside. He is sometimes timid at first, but once he realizes he is safe, he will join in on adventures and play with his brothers.

Curly: Loveable ball of energy who is super friendly and affectionate. He loves wrestling with the other cats in the home, and he is always up for a friendly tussle. He likes to chase his toys around his space, but is also cool to just lounge around after he's done playing.

Moe: The most affectionate and social of the sibling set, he is always eager to be a part of whatever you're doing. He loves to curl up in your arms, be on your shoulders, or even your head. He will even spend time up on your back when you're down on the floor doing things like cleaning up. He just wants to be helpful and keep you company!

Larry, Curly, and Moe are all litter trained, dewormed, neutered, and up to date on their vaccinations. Each would do okay being adopted alone or to another cat household, or with each other. Their adoption fee is 150 per cat. You can fill out the adoption application here: https://form.jotform.com/241667779440266
-Loves his brothers but would be okay as only cat

Boston - Available for adoption
5 year old male - Birth date: November 20, 2018
Fostered in Cambridge, Ontario

Meet Boston!

Boston is a beautiful, charming 5 year old Alaskan mix who was rescued from the dog sledding industry in March, where he spent the first years of his life serving others, pulling tourists on sleds, and living on a 4 foot chain. He has now been in foster care for 165 days.

Despite his past, Boston continues to spread endless amounts of love to everybody that he meets. This affectionate boy adores his toys, and loves to spend his time sunbathing or going on long walks with his people. Though Boston’s curiosity can sometimes lead him astray on his leash, he is making great strides with his no-pull harness. With continued leash training, he’ll be a pro in no time at all! He is also fully potty trained, letting you know when he needs to go outside and do his business.

Boston gets along wonderfully with both dogs and humans, including small children, but he has not yet been tested around cats.

Boston has so much love to give, and he is an absolute sweetheart. He is looking for a family that will cherish him and patiently help him adjust to his know home while giving him the care that he needs and deserves. He may initially be nervous with a new home and new family, so a patient and supportive environment will be essential while he adjusts to his new surroundings. In the sled dog world, we call this “decompression.”

Boston is one of the last sled dogs from the March rescue to be adopted. Even after the life he lived for years, and having waited so long now for his forever home, he still manages to bring joy and laughter to everybody who meets him. His past no longer defines him, and he’s ready to retire with his people.

If you’re looking for an active, affectionate addition to the family, Boston may just be the perfect fit for you.

Boston's adoption fee is 400. He is neutered, up-to-date on all vaccinations, and microchipped. You can apply to adopt him here: https://form.jotform.com/221626931360250

Jazz - Available for adoption
5 year old male - birth date: November 20/2018
Fostered in Courtice, Ontario

Meet Jazz!

Jazz is a 5 year old ex-sled dog with a sweet personality who is more ready than ever to find his forever home after years old sled pulling and 164 days in foster care.

Jazz was rescued, along with over 30 other sled dogs, from a tourist sled dog kennel where he lived on a 4 foot chain when not pulling people.

Jazz is medium-sized with a playful and affectionate personality. He has the most beautiful eyes that have both brown and blue, giving him a really unique look that always catches people's eyes. He is definitely on the quite side, not often making a lot of noise.

Jazz loves to go on walks, but still thinks he has to pull when out in front, so he will need guidance when it comes to his leash work. He's getting better every day! With proper care and the right leash or harness, he will do great.

He is crate trained and goes in his crate with no issues. Jazz is also housetrained and learning basic commands well, in both English and French.

Like many of the sleddies from this rescue, he is still a little hesitant to trust, especially men, but will open up after time with somebody who loves him and shows him care and patience.

Jazz is friendly and social with other dogs, especially females. He is gentle and good with children, and but has not yet met any cats.

Jazz’s ideal home would have a confident female canine companion and an active family or individual that can provide him with plenty of exercise and mental stimulation. He would love to have a fenced in yard that he can run and play until he feels safe and secure.

Jazz is spayed, up to date on all relevant vaccines, dewormed, and microchipped. His adoption fee is 400.

If you're interested in adopting Jazz, you can apply here: https://form.jotform.com/221626931360250

Rosette - Available for adoption
7 years old - birth date: December 30/2016
Fostered in Dorval, Quebec

Meet Rosette! Sister to Toxon (featured this past weekend) and the ultimate love bug who is ready to find her forever family. Rosette is a 7 year old Alaskan mix who was finally able to retire from the dog sledding industry in March. She is hoping to find her family before the year ends, so that she can celebrate her 8th birthday AND the new year with her new people!

Have you ever heard the phrase “from sled dog to bed hog?” Well, Rosette, lovingly known by her foster family as “Rosie”, is the epitome of just that, as you can see from her photos! Whether it’s the couch, her dog bed, or YOUR bed, Rosie will settle in and make herself comfy.

Rosie is looking for a family that will provide her with a calm, supportive, and patient environment while she continues to gain her confidence in her new found life. As her foster mom says “Rosie has been serving others her whole life, and now it’s time for us to serve her.”

Rosie still has some challenges to overcome, although each day she is becoming more and more the confident dog that she always should have been. She does have some reservations with men, as many of the sleddies rescued in March do, and may take a little while to warm up to them, but with love and patience, she has been able to overcome this fear. A home without cats or small dogs would be ideal for Rosie, though she is great with kids and large dogs.

Rosie is the sweetest girl who adores curling up on the couch for a cuddle and a good nap. She’s a simple girl who is loving her retired life and all of the new things she is discovering every day. She has learned the joy of playing with toys, and she loves to run around the yard with her ball.

This sweet girl is beyond ready for her forever people! She is fully potty trained, and her leash training continues to improve every day, especially with the right harness and a positive attitude from her people.

If you are looking for a dog who you can build a deep connection with, get all the cuddles with, and who will bring you an insane amount of joy, then Rosie is waiting for you!

Rosette is spayed, up to date on relevant vaccines, dewormed, and microchipped. Her adoption fee is 400. While she is fostered in Quebec, we do accept adoptive homes throughout Ontario.

If you are interested in adopting Rosie, please fill out our adoption application, found here: https://form.jotform.com/221626931360250

Annie - Available for adoption
Fostered in Delhi, Ontario

Meet Annie! Annie came into our care in June along with her 4 siblings. She is now 4 months old and ready to find her family!

While she does enjoy playing with her siblings, her foster mom also notes her as a quiet soul who is happy to sit back and watch the rest of her siblings romp and play, perfectly content to watch the chaos unfold from her comfy spot on the couch. She can definitely be playful when she wants to be, though!

Annie would do well on her own, with one of her siblings, or in a home with another cat. She is a patient little lady who sits quietly waiting for her turn for kisses and cuddles from her foster mama. And, she is now fully litter trained!

Annie is spayed, up to date on vaccinations, and dewormed. Her adoption fee is 150. If you're interested in adopting Annie, please fill out our adoption application, found here: https://form.jotform.com/241667779440266

Yoko - Available for adoption
8 year old male - birth date 05/11/2016
Fostered in Courtice Ontario

Meet Yoko! An 8 year old Alaskan mix who was rescued from the dog sledding industry in late March.

Yoko is not just incredibly smart but also affectionate, loving nothing more than leaning into you for some cuddles. He's a true companion, happiest when he's with his people, ready to join in on hours-long adventures or simply curl up at your feet for a relaxing day indoors. Yoko is a mature and gentle companion. He likes long walks, mealtimes, and naps. He enjoys being outdoors - you can see his smile lighting up his face and tail going up!

Yoko has recently been enjoying summer vacations with his family, happily enjoying dog friendly areas around provincial parks, conservation areas, hiking trails, pet-friendly hotels, cafes, and even guided ghost tours! He's been a great companion, with his foster family saying he surprised them with his easy going attitude and adventurous spirit while out and about!

He is wonderful on walks. He pulls towards small dogs and small animals like rabbits (not squirrels, interestingly) but nothing that can’t be managed. On his recent vacation he was noted as being completely calm around other dogs. Yoko has been to the beach, multiple retail settings such as Canadian Tire and Home Depot, and been a dream!

Yoko, like many of the sleddies rescued in March, has shown a bit of a fear around men, in that he will sometimes hide or retreat, but once he gets to know somebody, he's good to go! He likes women, and he would be fine with children too. He is not one to play with balls or toys, but he does get the zoomies sometimes, and we love it when that happens! Yoko has been calm around cats but hasn’t come in direct contact with them, so a slow introduction is always best.

Yoko is eagerly waiting to become someone's new best friend! He is neutered, microchipped and up to date with vaccines. His adoption fee is 400.

If you’re interested in adopting Yoko, you can find our adoption application here: https://form.jotform.com/221626931360250

Bruce - Available for adoption
Fostered in Delhi, Ontario

Meet Bruce! A 4.5 month old [as of the writing of this bio on Sept. 1/2024] ginger kitten who is definitely going to steal your heart (and maybe even your lap!)

Bruce came into care in June at 8 weeks old with his four siblings (Annie, Chloe, Doug, and Ellie). He’s had a fun time learning all about indoor life and is now ready to find his forever family!

Bruce is such a sweet, loving soul who absolutely adores getting cuddles and love. He is the first of the kittens to come and curl up on your lap. Bruce also loves to spend part of his day up in the window ledge, gazing outside and watching the birds.

Bruce is fully litter trained! He is neutered, up to date on relevant vaccines, dewormed, and ready to go! His adoption fee is 150. If you’d like to apply to adopt Bruce, you can do so, here: https://www.baladidogrescue.com/cats-for-adoption

-Heartworm treatment for Jupiter
-Intake vet appointments on any dogs who come into the care of BSDRO during the month of September.
-Updated vaccines on many of our dogs
-Flea and tick preventative, deworming and heartworm medications

Toxon - Available for adoption
Fostered in Tecumseh, Ontario

My name is Toxon and I’m a sweet potato pie! I am a 7 year old retired sled dog! I was born on December 30th, 2016 - just in time to ring in the new year! Maybe on my birthday this year I will have a family to call my own, and we can celebrate my birthday and New Years together!

I’m the goodest boy who loves everyone around me and I am always excited to meet new people and other furry friends. I love greeting everyone with a great big doggy hug! But I’m sure you can teach me not to do that anymore if you think it rude. I just want to please!

I am SUPER smart! I know how to sit, lay down, give a paw, and turn around. So I am sure I will have no trouble adding new tricks and commands to my repertoire if you’d like to teach me! If you lay down next to me, I will reach my paw out to you, and if you’re giving me pets and I want more, I will boop your hand with my nose to let you know.

Since I was a sled dog in my previous life, I do sometimes still pull on my leash, but just a little bit! Only because I love going on walks and sniffing everything. After a couple of blocks, I tend to calm down and just leisurely enjoy the rest of our excursion!

I will never turn down a tasty bone! Those are my fave! For some reason, I cannot seem to get behind eating food out of my bowl. I would much rather eat that tasty stuff right off the floor (maybe something to do with how I was fed in my life before). But don’t worry! I always clean up my mess when I’m hungry!

If you are looking for a smart, energetic, and hopelessly devoted furry companion to add to your family, look no further, because I’ve got it all! I’m the box AND the arrow! I’m Toxon!

Toxon is neutered, microchipped, and up to date on all relevant vaccinations. His adoption fee is 400. If you’d like to adopt Toxon, you can apply here: https://form.jotform.com/221626931360250

🐾 Kittens! Did somebody say kittens?! Who doesn't love kittens?

Meet Freckles, Reginald, Phillip, and Simon! 🐾

These four adorable 6-week-old kittens are ready to steal your heart (and maybe even your lap)! Freckles, Reginald, Phillip, and Simon came into our care as tiny babies, just 3 weeks old, when their mom passed away. Thankfully, our amazing foster cat Isla, who had recently become a mom herself and lost two of her own three kittens, stepped up as their surrogate mama, giving all seven of them, plus her own kitten, the love and care they needed to thrive (along with the help of her kitty foster brother “Uncle Jake” and their human foster family)!

Now these sweet little furballs have grown and are playful, loving, cuddly companions ready to find their forever homes. Their four siblings have found homes within their foster family’s friends and family, and now they’re hoping somebody will fall in love with them, too!

We are currently accepting applications for their forever homes. They will be ready to go once they have weaned and are spayed and neutered and vaccinated. Their fee is 150. While they can be adopted on their own, kittens also do very well in pairs! If you think you can offer one (or two!) of these precious kittens the loving home they deserve, you can apply here: https://form.jotform.com/241667779440266

A member of our team will reach out to process your application, and keep you up to date on when they are ready to go!

Buck has put on his very best outfit in hopes his forever family is out there and will see what a good and handsome boy he is! His brother, Buford, was adopted this morning and Buck hopes it will soon be his turn, too ❤️

MORE INFO ON BUCK ⤵️

Meet Buck, one of the newest members of the BSDRO family! He is a 17 week old Husky Shepherd mix who came in with his brother, Buford.

Buck’s foster family say that he is an easy going guy. He absolutely adores and gets along with everybody and every creature that he meets. He is currently being fostered with 2 large breed dogs who are loving teaching him how to play fetch! Buck has also been cat tested and did very well with his feline friends! Not only does Buck get along with his other furry companions, he does amazing with kids of all ages!

Buck loves his people, he can’t help but want to be by your side all the time, especially if you are relaxing outside. A fenced yard where Buck can run around freely would definitely be beneficial, but not a deal breaker.

Potty training is coming along very well! Buck knows to do his business outside, but does need a little assistance getting out there! That’s not the only training going well! Buck is crate trained and is now sleeping through the night without any accidents, and he is quickly learning new tricks. He is an intelligent pup who is going to soak up any training thrown his way including leash training and commands, which he is already excelling at with his foster mom.

Everyone who meets Buck falls in love with his gentle nature, confidence, and happy but calm presence. His foster family can’t help but absolutely admire and love him. He’s an outstanding pup who will make a great addition to any family. He will no doubt add laughter, love and warmth to whoever is lucky enough to have him!

Buck is up to date on relevant vaccines, microchipped, flea and tick treated, dewormed, and neutered. His adoption fee is 700. Apply to adopt him, here: https://form.jotform.com/221626931360250

Your support helps cover vital expenses such as vetting, specialized food, or any other essentials tailored to each dog's individual needs. For the month of your August, some of the things your sponsorship money will cover are:
-Ongoing medical care for Moose, who has been in our care for a number of months and undergone multiple surgeries after being hit by a car and is currently going through more vet treatment and another possible surgery as the plates in his front legs continue to cause him trouble
-Heartworm treatment for Jupiter
-Ongoing medical care for Louie, who is still receiving some care for his leg, as well as having a large hernia repaired this week.
-Intake vet appointments on Tony, Adelaide, Buford, Buck, and any other dogs who come into the care of BSDRO during the month of August.
-Updated vaccines on many of our dogs
-Flea and tick preventative, deworming and heartworm medications
-Food, toys, supplies, and regular expenses for our 30+ dogs
-Transport costs to rescue more dogs and get them into their new foster homes
-Spay and neuter surgeries for a minimum of 8 dogs
And SO much more!

The expenses that come with rescue are really never ending. Your sponsorship helps us do so much more than you know!

🐾HOW IT WORKS:
➡️ It is $50 to sponsor 1 dog for the month of August ⬅️
✴️HOW TO SPONSOR✴️
▪️Make sure the dog you pick doesn’t have a sponsor yet in the list below. We try to update it as soon as a sponsorship is in
▪️Send $50 via e-transfer to [email protected] - please make sure to include a note with the animals name you want to sponsor. (✳️Bonus - comment on this post who you picked to boost it!)
-Once a dog is sponsored the name of the sponsor will be written next to the animals name below
-Your $50 sponsorship is for the month of August only. We will ask for new sponsors each month.

By sponsoring a rescue animal, you're not just providing financial assistance to a rescue who relies solely on donations – you're offering hope, healing, and the chance for a brighter future. We will list costly issues beside some of the dogs so that you can see where your money may be going. Your generosity ensures that these deserving pups receive the care and attention they require while they wait for their forever homes. By becoming a sponsor, you join our community of compassionate supporters, helping us to help the beautiful faces you see below ❤️
