Set up your house for success by placing easy to access reinforcement around areas you will need it!

Lets face it - you aren’t wearing that ugly treat pouch all day 😂 (unless your sophia)

So when your dog lunges for the door, or runs for the cat, you need to grab things fast!

Happy Graduation to these amazing TEENS! it was so fun watching them learn and grow (literally - they all got taller each week!)

This age group can be challenging but we modify our cirriculum to make your dog and you successful!

Have a management plan yet!??

Be sure to start prepping! Hosting over the holidays is a lot of fun but its way less stressful if your dog is kept safe and away from pummelling guests with joy or the table 👀 to eat the yummy snacks you got!

Contrary to popular belief we do not support using crates in ALL cases but we do support the use of barriers such as expens, baby gates or spare rooms and training your dog to enjoy the quiet time behind them!

Getting a dog as a family? SHARE THE WORK!

As a woman run business we often see the details in caring for a dog; very often this lands on the women in the family. Walking the dog, playing with the dog, training the dog and feeding/caring for the dog should always be a family affair and equally distributed!

Example: if I am home most of the day, my dogs get exercised. If I am away in the evening, I expect exercise to continue from other members of the family!

Raising dogs is WORK. make it easy on you by sharing it!

Ad| Sheldon is pretty serious about his food 🍖  And I’m serious about the quality that I feed! is a family owned and operated buisness, and better yet they are Canadian as well. 🇨🇦

In their canned food they do not use gums or thickeners; this means there is still liquid in your can after pulling it out of the fridge from being stored! No more awkward scrapping or swirling to get they rest of the food off of the side of the cans making mealtime a breeze. 😋

🙋🏽‍♀️ What is your favourite way to feed wet foods to your dog? We love using Kongs, Toppls, Licky Mats, and slow feeders in various ways to make mealtimes that much more enriching.

Happy grad to Milo, Dixie, Charlie aka CHARLES and Greta!

These blondies were so fun to teach and watch as they learned! in puppy class we focus on confidence, socialization and basic skills to get you living with your new pup in peace. The obedience can be built easily with these foundations!

all breeds welcome, all ages welcome! these classes run every sunday for 4 and 5 weeks respectively and will wrap up before holidays.

sometimes we get dogs and our expectations fall apart.

we may want an adventure dog, and end up with a reactive dog.

we may want a dog who is amazing with kids, and end up with one who is unsure about them.

we may want an eager sport dog, and end up with one who isn’t really into sports at all

we may want a therapy dog or one who is best suited to this work, and end up recognizing they are not meant for this role.

and thats ok! raising dogs is emotional, time consuming and it can be challenging when our expectations fall short. remembering that dogs are sentient individual beings that can adapt and learn new skills, takes the pressure off raising them on a platform made up of our desires and wishes and instead recognizes them for who they really are.

Practice your dogs recall with us this fall! We focus on building your dogs ability to run back to you 💨 under distractions in our intermediate class, build on your mat work, teach auto downs and sits + so much more!

Recall is challenging in the fall with all the fallen leaves adding so much more to sniff but that just means your dog can practice in harder scenarios!

Fall is our fav time of year but it brings some challenges for our reactive dogs! Its cooler, dogs are out more, and you are often competing with environmental reinforcers such as leaf chasing, squirrel hunting and tons of smells!

Its a lot! On top of this, the fact that it gets darker out earlier sometimes causes dogs to become more vigilant or suspicious!

Keep your training and reps consistent and work with the dog in front of you!

For all those who followed along we wanted to share our foster dog BILLY found her forever home yesterday!

Billy (now known as Eloise) will be loved and spoiled in Toronto area 🧡 She will get all the chews, love and walks a growing pup like her will need + ongoing training support from us virtually!

Special thanks to all who shared her post but most of all thanks to Alison for fostering her and giving her an amazing foundation for training and life.

Finally, a special and warm thank you to her original family who understood Billy would flourish in a different environment. We firmly believe dogs land where they are meant to be and we are happy to have helped.

For those who are wondering NO we do not run a rescue, but occasionally we will know of dogs needing private rehomes and will help where we can 🧡☺️

Have a good life, Billy. We love you!

Billy has been in our care for about a month now and has loved eating her meals! provides the balanced nutrients needed for a growing puppy AND the amazing palatability to ensure food is gobbled up - Billy never turns down a meal 😜

Growing puppies need a lot of calories to support growth and we feel confident in knowing Billy is eating the best of the best 💅

When Lucy met Cash 💅 Here is a perfect real life example of how we set up meet and greets with other dogs when we know they are social and comfortable! One dog is kept calm, the other is the boomerang - the dog we spend most time moving in and out of the other dogs space. This is also how we teach dogs to greet people and to manage jumping! This set up takes TONS of practice for your dog to succeed which is why we spend time doing reps in our classes! The first time I tried to brush Buffy it did not go well- instead, she snapped at me and then looked at me suspiciously every time I tried to approach her. Immediately I took a step back and started to introduce the tool to Buffy in another way but as you can see it wasn’t successful! Buffy was still suspicious of me and it started to bleed into our relationship in different ways like avoidance and a further discomfort of being touched. Buffy wasn’t one to seek attention through physical touch so it wasn’t something I wanted to poison more. I took a break from attempting to brush her to instead create a better plan! Utilizing cooperative care we started to condition an area to hang in first before tools were introduced. When tools were introduced, she was allowed to stand up and move away and in the beginning, she spent more time off her station than on it. Over time she realized she could control her session! When tools were introduced, we did so ever so slowly as shown in the second part of this video. She is still showing some signs of stress however she opts to stick around for some yummy @stellaandchewys raw coated kibble (no, we aren’t sponsored by them but would be open to it 😉) while having the brush move around her. Buffy still cannot tolerate long rounds of brushing but we do smaller sections a couple times a week. PS- she is now a complete and utter snuggle bug and seeks contact from me regularly.
