The team! I love how everyone works together and supports each other to provide the best care to our patients! 💙

Constantly learning. Everyday is different!

If you weren’t working in vet med, what other career would you have pursued?
I did my undergraduate degree in Marine Biology before I changed career paths and pursued veterinary medicine.

What’s one thing you can’t live without at work? I'm going to cheat and say RVTs/VAs/CSRs collectively.

What’s your favorite thing about working in veterinary medicine? Forming close relationships with pets and their owners. 💙

If your pet could talk, what’s the first thing you think they’d say? Wilshire: You are underfeeding me - can't you see that I am clearly wasting away? Hali: More time needs to be spent rubbing my belly.

What's your favourite TV show? Currently, it's "Love On The Spectrum".

If you weren’t working in vet med, what other career would you have pursued? Obtaining a Masters of Public Health or being a marine biologist. 🐬

Her compassion, calm leadership, and passion for veterinary medicine shine through in everything she does—especially in surgery and emergency care. We're so lucky to work alongside someone who brings this much kindness, expertise, and heart to every patient and team member. 💙

What was your very first pet’s name, and what kind of animal were they? My first animal was a Hamster named BJ. 🐹

Go-to Starbucks order? Grande vanilla sweet cream cold brew with cold foam on top. 🧋

What’s one thing you can’t live without at work? I can’t live without my support staff!

What’s your favorite thing about working in veterinary medicine? My favourite thing about working in veterinary medicine is getting to be with animals all day long. I have to fight the urge to kiss their faces.

If your pet could talk, what’s the first thing you think they’d say? Digger: when is dinner? Matilda: Pet me please.

If you weren’t working in vet med, what other career might you have pursued? I wanted to be a make up artist or a fitness trainer if I didn’t get into vet school.

✨For the end of reception month, we are celebrating the one and only Caitlin! Why did I save her for last? Well, I wanted to find the perfect words to truly encompass all that she means to us.

Not only has Caitlin put her heart and soul into taking care of Oakridge’s clients for the last 20 years, but she has striven to make each and every staff member feel special during that time. She has been our office manager since 2015 while still taking on receptionist duties. Since 2015 she has consistently bought us gifts to thank us, made sure that we each get a treat of our choice on our birthdays (yes she has a list of what our favourites are because she really is that organized), and can read the room and knows when we all need a little pick-me-up (hello, surprise Starbucks!) 🧋

Not only does she have a beautiful and generous heart, she also does a LOT of hard work behind the scenes. She is the master of the schedule - yes, scheduling all of us single handedly for 3 different vet clinics. And we are really quite needy so it’s a difficult task. But she is always up to the challenge. She is even willing to help us deal with a crisis when somebody is sick on her days OFF.

One of the biggest things she does that we are grateful for is our payroll!! Thank you, from the bottom of our hearts because 1. We like getting paid sooo much and 2. We forget to clock in and out a lot so again, very annoying, very needy.
