✨ Oak West is doing a drive for the London Food Bank and Anova women's shelter!✨We have extended our donation acceptance date to February 8, 2025!

We all know that our London community has been struggling more than ever. We want to give back to our neighbours by collecting donations! 💙

And the best part (other than feeling like an amazing human)? If you donate, you will be entered to win a COMPLIMENTARY exam and vaccines for your dog or cat! 🐱🐶
(This offer is only available for clients of Oakridge and Oak West Animal Clinics). Donations will be accepted by clients and non-clients.

DONATION OPTIONS:
- Non-perishable food items
- New women's pajamas - all sizes

Cold Weather Safety for Your Pets ❄️

As temperatures drop, it’s important to keep your pets safe and comfortable! Here are some quick tips to protect your pets in chilly weather:

🐕 Limit Outdoor Time: Dogs and cats can get frostbite or hypothermia. Keep outdoor time brief and provide plenty of warm, indoor spaces.
🐾 Protect Those Paws: Snow, ice, and salt can irritate paws. Use pet-safe booties during walks to protect them, and rinse and dry their paws after to prevent discomfort or ingestion of harmful chemicals.
🧥 Bundle Up: Short-haired or senior pets may need a warm coat or sweater for extra protection during walks.
🚗 Beware of Cars: Cats may seek warmth under car hoods—always tap your hood before starting your car to ensure their safety.

✨It's time for another Rehab Patient of the Week!

Meet Bella! She has come to see Judith to help with her stability. Bella has trouble with smooth floors, so Judith is helping to improve her strength! She has also placed special nail covers on her toes that give her extra grip.

We hope that Bella can tackle those floors a little bit better moving forward!

✨ 2024 year in review! ✨

We had such a fun, rewarding year here at Oak West. We saved some lives, had staff members get new pets, gave medical care to animals at the London Humane Society, did some silly little dances, met the CUTEST pets imaginable, and won the 2024 Consumer Choice Award!

🐶🐱We are so excited to see what 2025 brings. Thank you for being with us this year!

✨It’s time for another rehab patient of the week! Meet Sasha!

Sasha has been coming to rehab for a stifle (knee) injury. As surgery was not an option for Sasha, Judith was able to fit her with a stifle orthotic to stabilize her stifle.

Here she is enjoying the snow with her brace on! 🥰

The holidays have arrived✨! We want to make sure that your pet has a safe and happy holiday. Here are some tips to keep in mind while you are celebrating:

🍗 Avoid Feeding Table Scraps: Those tempting leftovers might seem like a treat, but some foods can be toxic to pets and cause tummy trouble or worse. Stick to pet-safe treats!

🎀 Keep Decor Out of Reach: Plants, candy, ribbons, and other decorations can be hazardous if ingested. Keep them in pet-free zones to avoid any mishaps.

🏡 Designate a Calm Space: With all the hustle and bustle, give your pet a quiet spot to retreat to. A cozy, familiar place can help them relax amidst the festivities.

🕯️ Mind the Candles: Those flickering candles might add ambiance, but they should be placed safely away from wagging tails or curious pets to prevent accidents.

🌿 Toxic Holiday Plants to Avoid:
- Mistletoe
- Holly
- Poinsettias
- Pine Needles (from Christmas trees)
- Water from the base of Christmas trees
