✨ Meet Rufus and his not so little eyelid lump! Rufus felt like his eyelid was getting a little too heavy, so he came in to our sister clinic, Oakridge Animal Clinic, to have us remove the mass.

One of our amazing RVT's, Hannah, admitted Rufus early in the morning - confirming that he was fasted and discussing the plan for the day. Dr. Li then examined Rufus to make sure that he was healthy enough to undergo an anesthetic. Dr. Li was able to choose a safe anesthetic protocol based off of Rufus' exam and pre-anesthetic bloodwork.

After Rufus was given an injectable sedation, Hannah placed an IV catheter. The IV catheter is used for induction, as well as IV fluids throughout the surgical procedure. This helps to keep patients hydrated as well as normalize their blood pressure while under anesthetic.

Rufus was then intubated and hooked up to our anesthetic machine. This kept him at a safe and comfortable level of anesthetic throughout his procedure. Dr. Li removed the mass, and now Rufus is looking good as new! 🐶
