Lulu update ❤️

Shout outs to the amazing medical care Lulu received at Forest Hill Animal Clinic in Toronto ON. Lulu underwent a specialized appointment with their Opthalmology department to check out her eye (remember she was the one with the eye mass that looked not great).

With help from an ocular ultrasound, Lulu's diagnosis came back as a vascular uveal mass. It is not bothersome to her at this size and does not affect her vision at all.

Over the next 2 weeks Lulu is receiving treatment to try to shrink the mass without surgery. At her recheck if this process does not work, we will then remove the eye surgically so it will no longer cause her any possible issue, nor continue to grow.

Paws crossed this treatment works. But regardless we have a plan for this very sweet girl. And no matter what- new adventures are coming her way.

Lulu still needs to be spayed and have a lump removed but we need to wait on this as priority first. This surgery, along with her original intake appointment and boosters will all be done at Lakeview Animal Hospital in Mississauga.

We feel really good and really happy for Lulu and this second chance.

She's an amazing girl and is just the absolute sweetest thing ever. 💗

It turned out that being left behind would be Rocky's greatest gift. Because being left behind meant angels would be on their way to bring him safety, a full belly, medical care, warmth, and a foster family.

It would mean no more worries and it would mean people who would never allow for him to be left behind again.

But seriously- when you move- remember to take your pets along please...

A massive thank you to Northern Reach Network , all of your volunteers, the Georgian Triangle Humane Society, the Bark Bus- Northern Legacy Horse Farm, and the Zoey Foundation for being Rocky's angels.

Rocky was one of 53 animals that recently headed to 11 different rescues to be offered a second chance.

The things these groups do- absolutely incredible. So if you don't already- please go follow them.

And this right here, this is what happens when rescues work together too.

Rocky has gone from being left behind outdoors alone, to lapping up all of the daily sofa naps he can. Literally 😆 Because he is pretty sure he's a lap dog.

He's amazing with everyone he meets including dogs and cats too. And although the horses he's hung out around were a little intimidating, he's of course their bestie too.

Rocky is an incredible dog and at only about 8 years old, you guessed it- there are so many years of doing all the best things and soaking up all of the love ahead of him.

Rocky heads to our vet clinic for a head to tail check today and we will book him in for a neuter stat.

Suzie- 14 years- female- 7 pounds

Suzie's fosters describe her as a small bundle of love. She is adorable, friendly, loving, quiet and so amazing!

-very affectionate and loves to sit with you
-loves to play and explore
-great on her little walks
- gets super excited for treats and does a little dance
-great with other dogs of all sizes
-great with cats
-great with children of all ages
-good to stay alone while you work
-apartment friendly
-sleeps in bed with her people
-Suzie is house trained however will also use a p*e pad if you prefer that instead (or if you're gone all day at work)
-travels well in the car
Medical- Suzie is an overall healthy & spayed girl- Dental done February 2025. She does have very early heart disease in one valve but the other is compensating very well. No medications are currently required & she did exceptionally well under anesthetic. Suzie does have a mild tracheal collapse more common for elderly small dogs- since taking an inexpensive cough syrup daily she's living her best life. (23.00 for about 6 weeks)

So how's this for a glow up ❤️.

Only two weeks ago Ruby arrived into our care in search of a second chance. When we welcomed this beautiful girl, she was super popular with so many people wondering when she was ready to be posted for adoption.

Well, it turns out she won't be. Because just like many of you who fell in love at first sight- so did her foster home too.

The day Ruby was to be posted for adoption our vet clinic (East Plains Animal Hospital in Burlington) let me in on a secret they had heard. Her foster was hoping to adopt.

And so I asked them, is she already home?

A very quick YES was heard loud and clear following a text of "does this happen often that people fall in love with their fosters". And I laughed as I responded- "very often indeed" 😆

Because with senior dogs- it's just a vibe that they bring. And it's sometimes hard to give them up.

Ruby's new momma has lots of allergy experience making this the perfect spot. And maybe Ruby knew it all along ❤️.

There's a new little in town and oh my word is he cute ❤️.

Happy's Place family, meet 7 year old Blue.

Um, and yep- he is also as sweet as you'd think.

Blue recently arrived into our care with a little help from our friends at Freedom Drivers & we are so grateful to have him here. Because of great partnerships between ourselves and so many shelters across Canada, this fine fellow will get the help that those ears look to desperately need. He's also happy to be out of a stressful shelter environment and into the cozy laps of his foster home too.

Blue is super with children, cats and dogs and loves to play. At only 7 he's the perfect blend of expert snuggly napper and hard core let's rough and tumble!

He's got himself a fair amount of medical to update before feeling his very best but thanks to foster care & so many of you- this wee lad is on his way to better health.

Hi there! I'm Soybean, and I'm a super playful, energetic 6-month-old female kitten looking for my forever home! I may be the shyest of them all, but I am also the cutest with my little "cheeks"

I love to play! My favorite activities are chasing balls, batting at wand toys, and exploring new spaces. I've got loads of curiosity, and I'm always on the go. I may be a little more cautious than my sister at first, but I warm up quickly, especially when there's something fun to do. Once I get comfy, I'll show you just how sweet and affectionate I can be - though I still prefer playing over cuddling right now!

Put on your best rescue face and wiggle Mimi!

Alongside of several others this week, Mimi also made her way into our care via one of our super shelter partners. They've also taken care of Mimi's spay and dental for us too since she was in a bit of a mess when she arrived.

Mimi was a huge stressball in shelter and was really struggling while there. Partnerships mean foster care! And when you feel your best, you're able to be your best ❤️.

Mimi sure is missing her previous momma right now but she's soaking up lots of snuggles in her foster home & is settling in just fine.

This week Mimi will head to our own clinic for a head to tail check along with finishing up her vaccines and running bloodwork too. It's important to be sure she's in tiptop shape before we seek out her forever (which will be soon).

She's great with cats, dogs, and all of the people she meets- as long as you've got a lap- this little will be your absolute best friend.

Oh- and of course she's being treated to a spa day too. Because a fresh new "do", it's always so good for the soul.
