𝐙𝐢𝐠 𝐙𝐚𝐠 𝐄𝐞𝐥

Also known scientifically as Mastacembelus Armatus, is a fascinating carnivore that belongs to the Mastacembelidae family. Commonly found in various parts of Africa, this species is renowned for its distinctive appearance and unique behaviors.

Zig-Zag Eels are typically found in slow-moving rivers, streams, and swampy areas across Africa. They prefer habitats with plenty of hiding spots, such as under rocks, in crevices, or amidst dense vegetation. However they are adaptable to a range of freshwater environments!

Johanna Pike is a large growing species found throughout much of the Amazon basin, where it tends to inhabit soft, acidic waters. Like many large Pike Cichlids, they are territorial and can be aggressive towards tankmates so any other fish in the aquarium should be chosen with care. With their large adult size and outgoing nature, they make excellent subjects for a species tank or in a suitably large display with other South American cichlids.
