Purrfect Haven Cat Rescue

I have helped this amazing London based cat rescue group over the years. Today I visited Hedy with a cash donation (it was hidden in a box of grooming tools that I no longer use!) and food. I noticed that they have 3.5k followers! So if we were each able to send Purrfect Haven Cat Rescue just $1 each, they would have funding for their work!

How can we make this happen?? I am not savvy enough with technology to know how - anyone who does know and could set it up?

We have had an emotional morning. We said goodbye to Lucy…..She would have been 17 in June. She was such a happy and lively addition to our family. Loved running off-leash at the old Airport Field. Loved chasing the ground hogs out there! Loved going to the Forest City Archers club out in Thorndale - running the trail, hunting for lost arrows, seeing everyone at our meetings. Greeting everyone at the door at home. Put up with 3 new kittens. Even playing with my SILs dog Cooper, last summer and this past Christmas. Looked after by Danielle and my MIL while I worked, when Peter and Rowland couldn’t. She will be missed.

It’s our 39th wedding anniversary and it’s definitely a weird one! Peter Hysen 💝 is playing in Toronto (Chicago the Musical). Our 16 year old dog (Lucy) had an emergency visit to the vet this morning. Luckily she is doing well and we will hope for the best! Our 3 cats have all checked her out since we’ve been home😻. And since the Toronto Maple Leafs are playing, Rowland Hysen brought pizza and dessert for dinner. 💖

Animal Outreach Cat Rescue has recently taken in a cat named Lulu. Her owner died and left some money for Lulu’s upkeep, but not enough to cover dental care and monthly thyroid medication. Lulu’s Basket is being raffled by Global Pet Foods on Wellington and The Cat’s Bark on Dundas. Tickets for the basket are 1 for $2/ 3 for $5/
20 for $20. Direct donations for Lulu’s care can also be made to Animal Alert at . Thank you so much for your help, especially as the Holiday Season is quickly approaching.

They are primarily open for the clients of their veterinarian partners but if space is available, they will accept pets from the general public.

Southwest Veterinary Hospital is a new after-hours veterinary service located in London Ontario.

We are a privately owned practice, built by a group of local Veterinarians passionate about providing after hour care to their patients.

Our skilled staff recognize the incredible need in the community for weekend and overnight care and our team is dedicated to helping provide this much needed service to our patients.

While we are currently providing service to the patients of our partnered clinics, we are pleased to provide care to the public when staff and space is available.

Ok, I admit it. I absolutely love Caesars, chips and salsa. Especially after walking from the hotel to the show and back: 6.5 km. And after the cat grooming seminar! And talking with other cat groomers and wannabe cat groomers! I am so glad I went. So inspiring and rejuvenating.😻

On the train to Ottawa Ontario Groom Show and we’re only an hour away. Walked 2km around the shops in Union Station. It’s been years since I’ve had to take a taxi anywhere. Ottawa Via Rail to the hotel, which is out near the show venue. People have been very pleasant. And a shout out to the Community Ambassadors at Union Station. They really pay attention in order to help someone in need!

The Ottawa Ontario Grooming Show has invited Melissa Hall (CFMG, NCGI Trainer & Certifier) to give two seminars about grooming cats. I plan on going and hope some other local cat groomers will go too. Let me know and then perhaps we can share costs.
