There was a post about a week ago in a certain Facebook group about a dog that needed to be rehomed who also displayed very aggressive behaviours towards people. That dog was Odin, and here he is now after just a few days worth of training. Since being in my care, Odin has not once showed any signs of aggression, and has turned into one of the sweetest dogs I have ever met. Sadly, if I had not picked him up, this friendly guy under all that aggression was already planned to be put down. Now that his agressive behaviours have been fixed, I am looking to find his new forever home.

Funny but embarrassing story, Odin was for sure not super easy to handle when I first picked him up. After getting him in my car, I opened a window for him to focus on something, since he was so stressed and wanted to kill me. I didnā€™t open the window enough for him to fit through, but Odin was so determined to escape, he managed to get his paws up on the edge of the window, literally push it down, and jumped through. I dangerously chased him on a busy neighbourhood street before a woman came out to help and grabbed him.

Despite that terrible moment, Odin has completely warmed up to me, my family, and my other dogs. As Iā€™ve said before, heā€™s never acted aggressively again, even during Halloween when we were constantly getting knocks on our door. Odin will soon be ready to find his new family once heā€™s had more obedience training. If you or anyone you know is interested in buying a new dog, get them to contact me.

Or if you have an aggressive dog yourself and youā€™re interested in solving their aggression, I can definitely help you and your dog.

Meet Thor.

As his name implies, Thor was a pretty strong, protective blonde. Due to his strength and size, it was evidently quite a challenge to get him to behave. I believe his owner described him best when saying he is very ā€œheadstrongā€. Despite his might and toughness, after 3 days of working with him, Thor has made some great improvements. His reactivity has reduced, and overall he is much calmer.

ā€œMy dog prior to training was very much a handful he is very strong headed and I thought I would never get control over him being at the age he is. Taking him for a walk was stressful and quite the arm workout trying to just hold him back it was a nightmare trying to take him anywhere he would just pull me around.

I really was wanting to gain control and be able to handle this large dog all on my own. I wanted us to enjoy our time together where ever him and I would be I wanted it to be enjoyable and not feel like I was the one being walked lol.

I am very pleased and definitely happy with the training and over all progress itā€™s like a world of difference. I canā€™t get over how much better control I now have with my dog. When out walking this guy, he is so much more relaxed and calmer makes for an enjoyable walk and itā€™s wonderful we can share that together now a lot more.ā€

Meet Waylon. Waylon was brought to my attention because of his reactivity towards other dogs and people. His owners had a problem with not being able to take him on casual walks due to his lunging and pulling. While Waylon pulled forward, their other dog, Juniper, dragged behind. Taking the both of them on a walk at the same time simply couldnā€™t happen.

Waylon turned out to be a quick study. During just our first session with him, Waylon had already drastically improved with minimizing his reactivity and remained at heel for the entire walk. After that, his owners just had to deal with minor problems, like whining. His owners will continue to be great leaders for him, and Waylon himself will become a vastly greater dog because of them.

Hereā€™s what they had to say:

ā€œBefore training, my dog was very reactiveā€”barking and lunging at other animals. He struggled with walking on a loose leash and was always pulling.
I wanted to work on loose leash walking with my dog and his reactivity to other animals.
Waylon has come so far during his training. He is now walking on a loose leash and is no longer pulling or lunging when we pass other dogs. I was very happy with the training!ā€

Meet Nev. Before training, Nev was expressing clear signs of stress and mild aggression. She would grumble and growl over possession of her food if approached. She would also have barking fits with strangers like the mailman coming towards the house. In 3 consistent weeks of training, her stress and issues have almost completely gone away. Hereā€™s what her owner had to say:

ā€œBefore training, The issues we were having with Nev were
-barking very often
At cats, mailman, doorbell, loud cars etc
-pulling while walking
-not coming back when called
-grumbling and growling if people went near her when she eats
Or when she was sleeping.
We were wanting her be a better dog, to have her behave, to listen to us when given a command, and not bark so much.
Weā€™ve been happy with Nevā€™s progress, itā€™s been 3 sessions and so far there has been much improvement, even after the first session.
Nev has improved by:
-not barking much, she didnā€™t bark at the mailman!
That was a huge moment! The doorbell still needs a little work, but she is continuing to improve with the skills Dryden has taught me.
-she now walks beside or behind me, with a slack leash, No more pulling!
-she is coming back usually after my second call now, (and this will continue to improve as I use the skills taught to me)
-she rarely grumbles now when approached while eating or sleeping, and no more growling, as I continue to work with her this is improving even more.

I am very pleased with what Dryden has taught me and my family to help Nev to become a happier less stressed dog..

We highly recommend training with Dryden @ ā€˜My wild wolf dog trainingā€™
He was easygoing, easy to talk to, came right to our home, where Nev is most comfortable, worked around our schedule, you can tell he really cares about helping you and your dog to have success!ā€

Meet Shelby (Red Nose Pitbull/Chocolate lab) and Evey (Labradoodle). This gorgeous duo had been lunging at other dogs and people on almost every walk they went on. Anita, their owner, had to take them out every morning very early to minimize the chance they had of seeing other dogs and humans. As well, Anita had to walk them separately every time because she could not control this behaviour. After just 3 days of education and practice, Anita can now confidently walk both of her beloved dogs by her side without fear of losing control of them. This is what she had to say:

ā€œBefore training, I struggled to handle walking both of my dogs together. My new puppy (9 months) got over-excited when seeing or meeting new dogs and people and would pull and throw herself around on the lead. She was impossible to control. And having a second older dog (Pitbull cross) to hold onto at the same time left me having to walk them either very early in the morning, avoiding anyone, or separately so that I could try and deal with each situation as best I could. My older dog would also tend to pull by surprise, which added more stress to the problem. I had heard about Dryden and his training. My objective, with his help, was for my dogs and me to learn how to heel and walk calmly and confidently together, without distraction, stress-free, and pass by other people, dogs, children - any situation while maintaining complete control. After only three sessions, the progress was remarkable. I had achieved my objective. I am a 5ft small female, and to walk two large dogs confidently, calmly and under control feels very empowering. I now have the tools and knowledge to continue practicing and improving, and we can enjoy our walks together, stress-free, without having to avoid other dogs and public or busy places.ā€

Meet Steel. Before working with Steel, his previous owners claimed he would attack their horses when going out to feed them. He was without structure and therefore out of control. After giving him some much needed training, he has transformed into a completely different dog. He has since bitten a total of 0 horses heā€™s come into contact with, and continues to impress to this day. There was a very intelligent dog under all that chaos that was longing for his equilibrium. Itā€™s possible for your dog to have the same future.
