Good morning everyone
Just wanted to come on here to let you all know we have had an extremely upsetting few weeks. Richard and I just want you all to Understand the precautions in taking pills with pets around.
Two weeks ago this Sunday I dropped an Aleve on the floor and Molly was right there and picked it up, I did not realize at that moment that the pill had dropped and Molly picked it up,
Until moments later. She seemed to be fine to us, she had eaten her supper and was acting like her usual self until around 1:30 AM, The vomiting started and Diarrhea around 4:30.
Richard and I started Googling what happens to a dog when they consume Aleve/Naproxen. Well needless to say I went into a panic mode and Richard as my rock tried to calm me down. He said we would wait and call the Vet at 8:00, he and I were counting down the minutes.
Molly ended up at the veterinarian on an IV for Four days, sent home with three different meds, to be rechecked yesterday with another round of bloodwork. Come to find out one 200mg Aleve/ Naproxen can kill a 50lb dog.
😞Lots of Prayers were going out for Molly. Thank you for that❤️You know who you all are. Bloodwork showed yesterday that she is going to be just fine.
We are feeling so thankful! ❤️God truly does answer prayers!
Also a very special Thank you to Sarah ,Jack and all the girls at Nova Veterinary Clinic in Hebbs Cross. They took extra care to make sure Molly was okay. ❤️
P.S please be mindful that Gel coating over the counter or Prescription pills,Dogs are attracted to because the Gel coating is made with sugar. 😞
