Over the last few years, (900 days in particular, ) our legal system, as well as our "justice system" has been tarnished and stained with the blood, sweat and tears of thousands of people who's only crime was standing up for themselves and for others.
We have faced unprecedented tyranny, oppression and outright trampling of our freedoms in this country.
Today, we bear witness to the true nature of what we believe is a free and democratic society. It has become clear that we are not free, at least in the true sense of the word. To be free, one must be allowed to protect their freedom from oppression. To be free, and to exist in a civilized society where damages to one party are mitigated through a balanced mediator, (the courts, ) one must not be forced to submit to harm, by anyone, including the government.
Today, we hang our heads not only in sadness for the fate handed down to two men who simply wished to protect their freedoms, (and those around them, ) but also in shame that we sat on the couch while society descended into what we see today, without doing our part to make a difference.
Chris Carbert and Tony Olienick were each sentenced to 6 years in prison plus a lifetime ban on owning fi****ms as well as compulsory DNA submissions.
The system that is supposed to be balanced to protect our rights and freedoms even FROM government infringements has failed, and it's failed miserably. These men will never be the same and will likely only find solice and healing from the Judge of judges.
My heart goes out to Chris and Tony, their families, and anyone else who's heart is breaking at the sentence handed down today.
There is no justice in this country. We need to start fresh.
- Chris
PS- to those in positions of authority, specifically those who make law- you failed.
