A local doggy day care has seen an increase in cases of kennel cough with their daycare pups. We would ask any grooming clients please reschedule your appointments if you think your dog has been in contact with the virus. Remember that although kennel cough usually isn’t anything of serious concern, it is highly contagious and puppies, elderly dogs, and those with poor immune systems can be at risk of developing serious conditions from the virus. Vaccinations can help, but they are not 100% effective for preventing the virus. As always, let’s keep our babies safe ❤️

Hi everyone,

Unfortunately we had two more cases of kennel cough pop up today. So for the safety of all the dogs we have decided to remain closed for the rest of this week and next week. This decision has not been made lightly and we do not enjoy having to close for this amount of time but we need to do what’s best for all the dogs in our care. Unfortunately this is something that is out of our control and we are handling it the best way we can for the pups. Even though all the dogs in our care are vaccinated against kennel cough (bordetella) they can still contract different strains of the virus, which is what we are seeing here.

We will reopen on Monday December 2nd.

We will be spending the next two weeks disinfecting every inch of the daycare to ensure everything is safe for the dogs return.

We recommend you DO NOT take your dog anywhere they could come into contact with other dogs incase they have kennel cough and you are not aware. It can take up to two weeks for symptoms to show, that is why we are closing for two weeks so that if any other dogs have contracted kennel cough we will know and can stop any spread.

We apologize for any inconvenience this is going to cause for you and your pup(s) but this is the safest option for them.

*After the two weeks off if your dog is showing signs of kennel cough do not return until clear*

*Your dog needs to be 10 days symptom free to be able to return to daycare and not be contagious*

We thank you for your understanding and look forward to getting back open as we will miss all our furry friends!
