Yesterday was a bit of an intense day on the farm. Lucy was in labor but not progressing the way we expected. Upon further inspection the first kid wasn't presented correctly and was trying to come sideways with no way of shifting baby so an emergency cesarean was needed to save Lucy. Thankfully the Langley Animal Clinic was able to get out to us and save Lucy and her babies. We thought for sure her babies weren't going to make it. We are so grateful the stressful day had a wonderful end.

The new addition was a bit slow and wasn't interested in eating. We tried to get some colostrum in her but we didnt want to go to bed without her latching. So off to google to find any tricks. Sure enough rubbing the top of the babys tail stimulates the nursing reflexes (as if mama was licking them) and she started bunting then latched 😊

We had a little surprise when we went to put the goats to bed. We weren't expecting anymore babies but we found this little one standing with her mama in the llamas pen 😍
