Halloween is tomorrow! 🍫

This is what one of our patients vomited up yesterday after getting into a 180-piece box of Halloween Candy. Luckily, he was able to vomit most of it up and was feeling much better afterwards.

Make sure all Halloween chocolate and candy is out of reach of your furry friends and contact us immediately if you suspect any ingestion.

A fourth local to has tested positive for .

While the risk of acquiring rabies locally remains very low, this latest positive case highlights the virus’s continued presence in Grey Bruce and the importance of taking steps to prevent bites and scratches.

Rabies is usually transmitted to humans through direct contact with saliva from an infected animal. Once symptoms appear, the rabies virus is virtually 100% fatal in people and animals. However, rabies are highly effective at preventing the disease if administered before occur.

We're advising the public to remain vigilant about the risk of rabies:

✅ Always refrain from touching, petting, or handling
✅ Avoid approaching or feeding .
✅ Keep away from wild animals and do not let roam unsupervised; and have your pets vaccinated for rabies
✅ Wildlife-proof homes, , and yards.
✅ Do not disturb baby animals.
✅ Warn children to stay away from wild or stray animals.
✅ Do not trap and transport wild animals to a new location.
