🐠 𝗢𝗺𝗲𝗴𝗮-𝟯 𝗳𝗮𝘁𝘁𝘆 𝗮𝗰𝗶𝗱𝘀: Oily fish, such as salmon, sardines, and anchovies, are rich in omega-3 fatty acids, which have been shown to provide a number of health benefits for dogs. These fatty acids can help to reduce inflammation, improve cardiovascular health, and support cognitive function.[1]

🐠 𝗩𝗶𝘁𝗮𝗺𝗶𝗻 𝗗: Oily fish is also a good source of vitamin D, which is essential for the maintenance of healthy bones and teeth. Dogs that do not receive enough vitamin D in their diets may be at risk for developing osteomalacia, a condition characterized by weak bones and muscle weakness.[2]

🐠 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝘁𝗲𝗶𝗻: Oily fish such as salmon, sardines, and anchovies are also high in protein, which is important for maintaining a healthy muscle mass and supporting overall growth and development. A diet that is deficient in protein can lead to muscle wasting, poor weight gain, and other health problems in dogs. [3]

✅ Fatty fish should be included in your dog's diet 2-3 times per week. Fresh or canned fish is a great inclusion. If you choosing a canned variety, select springwater or olive oil options. Avoid canned options that say in oil as a genetic term or oil blend.

⚠️ Fish oil supplements do not replace real food, they are always in addition to real food.

I would like to start with wishing everyone a very Merry Christmas, Happy holidays and all the best in 2022.

Spend time with your family this Christmas you don't know when it'll be your last.

I need to mentally and emotionally take a step back from answering text messages, Facebook messages and emails for a couple of weeks. After a long battle with a genetic heart condition, our Dad (Bill Murray) went to be with the Lord on Dec 18th. He will be missed by so many.
