The clinic currently is without power. This means the phone systems are down and we can not have a staff member present for your prescription pick ups today. If you are in need of an urgent prescription pickup before the holiday break please call and visit the Alexandria Vet Clinic between the hours of 8:30-11:30 to arrange for prescription pick up.

Please be advised the clinic will be closing at 2pm today to allow our employees to arrive home safely before the predicted flash freeze.

It is Highland Games weekend here in Maxville! Out of respect for the Games, the office is closed July 29 and 30th. We will reopen after the long weekend on August 2nd.

Eye spy … 7 Sphinx kittens! Cuddle time at the clinic. The skin on a Sphinx feels much warmer to the touch than a haired cat as it does not have its insulating coat. They are like miniature heating pads! 🐱

Welcome Mark!!! Have you met Mark during your curbside visit or spoken to him on the phone? We are so pleased to have him on the team while he is on summer break from the Ontario Veterinary College in Guelph. He is going to make a wonderful Future Vet!
Mark grew-up locally in Casselman, is bilingual, and loves working with cows just as much as cats and dogs.

Lyme fun fact: ticks lay potentially thousands of eggs after taking a blood meal from an animal. Flea and tick prevention medications prevent the transfer of Lyme disease to the pet, but also prevent the female tick from laying eggs in your yard!
Protect your pets and check yourself. Lyme disease is a serious chronic disease. 🐶 🐈
