Be prepared for the New US Travel Requirements with your dog.

TRAVELING TO THE UNITED STATES WITH YOUR DOG AFTER AUGUST 1? 🇨🇦🇺🇸
Happy Wednesday! Just a reminder if you are crossing the border into the United States with your dog there is now new regulations that will involve paperwork that has to be endorsed by the CFIA (which will require an appointment with them), uploading photos of your dog and filling out some forms online. The exact regulations will be set on July 15 2024 and that is when you will be able to fill the official forms out. I would recommend getting a head start on this by going to the CDC website (cdc.gov) and using the search bar (search dog import) as there are several steps which will take some time.
We will know the exact process on July 15th but it will be very similar to what the website shows now.

UPDATE - The CDC rules have now been officialized. All dogs must be over 6 months of age to travel to the United States. They must be microchipped and vaccinated against rabies. There is a "Dog Import Form" for owners to fill out on the CDC website which includes uploading a picture of the dog. Your veterinarian will also need to fill out some paperwork called "Certification of Dog Arriving from DMRVV-free or Low-Risk Country into the United States form". To fill have this form filled out we will need to see your dog for a check up and to scan the microchip. Despite what the CDC website says we have been told by the CFIA that the paperwork does not have to be endorsed by a government registered veterinarian. Check out cdc.gov for more information,

A sneak peak from our few days away at The Ottawa Ontario Grooming Show. Big thank you to all of those that worked hard to pull this off for our region. It was nothing short of an amazing few days. Learning new skills, tips, tools/equipment, and products. Never stop learning. We will strive to learn and grow together passionately for our furry friends.
