Halloween is an exciting time of year with lots of activity. This holiday can be stressful, even for the most social of pets. Make this Halloween fun for the whole family with these tips:

🎃LEAVE YOUR PET AT HOME: We know Fluffy loves kids, however the extra street activity can lead to agitation. Being approached by scary costumed humans can lead to scared dogs who may growl or even bite.

🎃DRESS TO IMPRESS: Your pets costume should be snug enough they won't get caught or tripped up. Beware of buttons, strings or other loose parts that could be chewed off

🎃PROVIDE A SAFE SPACE: Halloween can quickly become overwhelming with the constant ringing of doorbells and loud activity outside. Consider creating a calm space away from activity, turn on the tv or music to help drown out the sound.

🎃BEWARE OF TREATS: Goodies such as chocolate, raisins and sugar free candies containing xylitol are dangerous for dogs. Keep Halloween candy safely tucked out of reach

September is Animal Pain Awareness Month.

Just like humans animals equally suffer from pain. While acute pain is obvious and distressing, such as when they sustain an injury, chronic pain can often go unnoticed. Chronic pain can be masked as "slowing down" or "getting old".

If you feel your pet is in pain, we encourage you to speak to your Veterinarian about pain management options.
