Hello everyone!
Some of you may have already seen but yesterday we had five amazing kittens come into our shelter in horrible condition. We are currently trying to keep them comfortable and pain free using pain management, they are also receiving antibiotics to fight the infection. Due to the extent of the infection two out of the five need eye removal surgery to have any sort of future. They are our little warriors they have fought their way to make it to our shelter and it is now up to us to ensure these loving and amazing kittens make it to the bright future that awaits them! Unfortunately due to our monthly budget constraints and high volume of animals that we still currently have in shelter, we need to fundraise in order to save these little lives. Each surgery will cost upwards of $960. Two of these kittens will need to have one eye removed each. Our goal is to reach $2000. If you are able to and in a place to donate please donate to aparc's warrior kittens. Thank you so much for helping us help them. Every donation counts.
We will also be hosting a bake sale/bottle drive on Friday 21st through Monday 24th that will go towards them as well as some of our other animals in need. If you have a sweet tooth or bottles that are taking up space please make your way down to shelter, We would love to see you!
Twisted showing off while cruising around APARC today! If you missed his story in our previous post, here it is again!
"Meet Twisted! Unfortunately when the tornados hit back last summer this guy was found injured with a broken front leg. Instead of him getting the amputation he so desperately needed at the time to relieve his pain, his previous owners left his broken leg which over time the bones fused together in a contorted fashion and he was left with a twisted leg, hence where he got his name. He was abandoned at our shelter as a "stray" very recently, but we later found out that it was one of his owners that dropped him off. He requires surgery to remove the leg and live a happy pain free life. He is a very vocal boy and loves to tell stories! Very loving and always rolls over for belly rubs."
Twisted is the sweetest cat who adores to be held and pet. He loves to speak to us (very loudly) all day long, unless you're holding him, then he'll quiet down and purr nicely in your arms. He gets along great with other cats as well, he's truly a pleasure to be around. Twisted is a kind, happy soul despite all his hardships. With his amputation, Twisted can enjoy the rest of his many years pain free and without future complications. If you'd like to donate towards Twisted's amputation, you can click "Donate on Benevity" at https://www.aparc.ca/ or click his highlighted post on our page!
We thank you all for your continuous support that allows us to help cats like Twisted 😊❤️
This is Goomba! She was brought into the shelter with litter mates back in October, from the light industrial area. Goomba, was born missing part of her leg, however that hasn't stopped her from enjoying life. One of our lovely staff has been fostering her since the day she came into our care, and now she will have a surgery on February 6 2023, to have her leg amputated. Goomba will continue to thrive and be strong!
Hey Dads & animal Dads! We hope you have a beautiful and relaxing Father's Day today! 💕 🐾 😎
Today at around 3:45pm a wonderful couple came into the shelter and generously donated items to the homeless animals. During this time their privacy was violated as this individual unlawfully entered their vehicle and stole their wallets and belongings. If you have any tips on the identity of this person please contact the Medicine Hat Police as we want to ensure this low life is punished to the full extent of the law.

Haggis
Meet Haggis! This sweet boy was brought to APARC as a stray. He must have had a hard start in life as he is very nervous in new surroundings and with people. He is currently in foster care where he can learn self-assurance, trust, and happiness. He has bonded very well with his foster dog sister and would prefer a home with another dog to help him with his confidence. Haggis needs someone that can spend a lot of time with him daily, he does not like to be alone! Inquire about Haggis today so he never has to walk alone again.
Calling ALL Hatters! We still have a TON of books left! Over a thousand books left the shelter yesterday, and we are hoping many more folks get fresh reading material while supporting the homeless pets of Medicine Hat! #book #sale
