Foster Needed for Sweet Mama Molly & Her 5 Puppies! 🐾

Molly and her adorable litter of five are looking for a loving foster home where they can grow, thrive, and get ready for their forever families. These babies grow fast, and all they need is a quiet space and someone with a big heart to help them along the way.

💛 We provide everything you need, you provide a safe, calm space and your loving attention.

We’re also asking for help from the community to keep Molly well-fed. 🍽
Mama Molly is doing the hard work of feeding five hungry pups while staying healthy herself. She has a chicken allergy, so she needs lamb and rice food—both wet and dry. Please double-check ingredient labels, as many “chicken-free” foods still contain hidden chicken. 🙃

Great PSA from All Dogs Great & Small - Dog Daycare and Training!

With the weather getting crazy hot and we all look for a little refuge, we thought it was a good idea to put out a safety reminder.

Cyanobacteria or Blue / Green algae are a type of bacteria that thrive in warm stagnant waters like lakes and ponds. When conditions are right (like right now) visible blooms can occur very quickly. Usually as a blue/green or red/brown hue on the waters surface. Echo Dale, Reesor, Elkwater, Spruce Coulee and many others get these algae blooms every year.

Cyanobacteria can be very serious or fatal to dogs in a very short amount of time. Especially if ingested while swimming. These toxins can affect the liver and kidney function as well neurological symptoms and skin problems. Symptoms include vomiting, diarrhea, weakness, seizures, and even death. Immediate veterinary care is crucial if exposure is suspected.

You can check for advisories on the Alberta website, but don’t take that information as fact as conditions can change very rapidly.

Kali is a sweet, sensitive girl with a heart full of love—she just needs a little time and patience to let it shine. While she may be timid at first, once Kali feels safe and comfortable, she reveals herself to be an incredibly loyal and affectionate companion who thrives on attention and care.

She dreams of a home where she can be doted on hand and paw, surrounded by calm, understanding people who respect her need for a gentle introduction to new things. Kali would do best as the only dog in the home—she might enjoy occasional playdates, but when it comes to her personal space, she prefers to keep it all to herself.

Kali has not been around cats or small animals, so her behavior with them is unknown. She’s said to be friendly with kids, but due to her shy nature, she’d likely do best in a home with older, respectful teenagers rather than young children, who may unintentionally overwhelm her.

If you're looking for a quiet, loving companion who will reward your patience with deep affection and loyalty, Kali is ready to find her forever home—one where she can truly feel safe, seen, and cherished.

If dogs could choose their element, Quince would dive headfirst into water every time. This handsome guy is a true water dog at heart—he might even believe he’s part fish! Whether it’s a splash in the pool, a hose party, or a lazy float on a sunny afternoon, Quince lives for anything aquatic.

While he hasn’t had experience around kids or other animals, Quince knows what he likes: his people, his pool, a soft place to nap, and some quality playtime. He already knows "sit" and "shake a paw", and he's currently working on perfecting his leash manners. He’s also got a great indoor record—completely house trained and well-behaved when left alone.

A big fan of fetch, frisbee, and a good game of chase, Quince is looking for an active home where he can splash, play, and lounge with his favorite humans. If you’ve got a backyard pool, a soft dog bed, and room in your heart, Quince is ready to be your most loyal (and splashiest) companion.

Jersey is a stunning girl with a heart full of love. Don't let her age fool you—this girl still has plenty of pep in her step and loves engaging in playtime with her humans. Whether it’s a game of fetch or a casual stroll around the neighborhood, Jersey is always up for some fun.

She walks beautifully on leash and enjoys her daily walks as much as she enjoys lounging by your side afterward. Jersey has previously lived with kids and was said to be gentle around them.

While she has been described as dog-social, her reactions to other dogs in the shelter environment suggest she may prefer slow introductions— and likely being the only dog in the home. Jersey is not cat-friendly, so a feline-free home is best for her.

On the topic of Animal Abandonment let us introduce you to Rowan – the friendliest cat you’ll ever meet (and yes, we guarantee it). 🫶

Sweet Rowan came to us in a heartbreaking way—a kind stranger found her in a cat carrier, abandoned on the side of the road in Cypress County. But you’d never know it by meeting her. This girl didn’t let the worst of people harden her. Instead, she’s chosen love. Gratitude practically glows from her. ✨

Rowan is a certified lovebug. She wants nothing more than to be with her people—whether that’s cuddling close, following you around, or just soaking up the comfort of knowing she’s finally safe. 💕

She does have a heart murmur, which doesn’t affect her right now but may need a little extra love and care as she ages. A low-stress, cozy home would be ideal to keep her healthy and happy. 🌟

We don’t know how she is with other pets or young kids, but her gentle nature makes us think she’d do well with other calm cats or older children. That said… being your one and only? She’d absolutely love that too.

Rowan is the kind of cat who reminds you how much love still exists in the world. She’s been through the worst—and still, she gives the best of herself.

If you’re looking for a companion who will love you with her whole (slightly rumbly) heart, Rowan is waiting. 🐾💛

🚨PLEASE STOP DUMPING CATS – THEIR LIVES DEPEND ON IT 🚨

Recently, we've seen an increase in people abandoning cats in our area — including a mother and two kittens just left behind. This is heartbreaking and dangerous. 💔❤️‍🩹

With the extreme weather we've been experiencing, abandoned animals are at serious risk of dehydration, heatstroke, injury, or death. Young kittens are especially vulnerable.

If you're unable to care for a pet, reach out to us asap to get onto our waitlist. If we are unable to assist you immediately, contact other rescue groups. If you've found a stray animal, contact your local bylaw at 403-529-8400 or reach out to Animal Pound Services Medicine Hat on Facebook.

Dumping animals is not only cruel — it's illegal.
We urge everyone to act with compassion and responsibility.
There are humane and responsible options available — you are not alone, and we are here to help. 🐾👣
