We had a little celebration for Boomers 2nd Birthday today! (His friends all enjoyed a little treat, too, because Boomer is great at sharing). We simply couldn't pass up the chance to spoil this boy. He quickly wins over the hearts of those he meets and wants nothing more than to play tug/ball forever.
This handsome boy would love to celebrate his next birthday in his new home. He deserves to be pampered with all the squeaky balls the world has to offer.
For more information on Boomer, please visit www.medhatspca.ca or call the shelter at 403-526-7722.
Oatmeal is a big sweetheart and is currently recovering from an unknown injury to his hind end. Because of this, he does have a unique walk. However, it doens't slow him down one bit! Oatmeal is looking for a foster to adopt home. So that he may continue to slowly heal while still receiving allllll the love and attention he craves. Oatmeal seems to accept both cats and dogs quite easily. He would also love a home with children. The more affection, the better.
He is chatty and laid back as long as he has a warm lap to curl up on.
Due to the unknown injury, Oatmeal is currently on medication and will require a Veterinary Diet long term.
For more information on Oatmeal and what being a Foster to Adopt home looks like, please contact the shelter @ 403-526-7722. Or visit www.medhatspca.ca to apply to become a Foster home for animals in need.

Let's take a step back from the Trap, Neuter, Release (TNR) conversation and talk about why we're advocating for this program to begin with. Over the next two weeks we'll share information regarding TNR, starting today with the basics:
Q1: What is a feral cat? πΌ
A: Feral cats are unhoused domesticated cats that live outdoors and are typically wary of human contact. Feral cats are typically born from domestic cats that have either been abandoned or have strayed from human care. They often live in colonies, forming social groups with other feral cats. The difference between a stray cat and a feral cat? Stray cats have wandered away from home or have been purposefully abandoned, but they still socialize well with humans. Feral cats, on the other hand, generally avoid interaction with humans and are not easily approachable and are therefore, often not adoptable as pets. As the population of feral cats grows (as they are left to mate in the βwildβ), they pose significant challenges to humans and to non-profit organizations like ours with limited resources to care for them.
Watch our page as we continue this conversation in the coming weeks.
