Crush
4 month old Female
Husky x
Medium in size once full grown

Well socialized with other dogs
Likely good with cats

Crush loves her food which has made training a breeze, so far she knows; sit, lay down, here, leave it, off and bed time!
She is currently learning; wait, leash manners, and not to jump up.
Her foster is always working on helping her gain confidence with new situations and around children as she can be timid at first with them.
Crush is crate trained and mostly house trained.

Did you know that our organization spends approximately $175,000 annually on veterinary expenses? We are thrilled to introduce our "Help Heal Paws" crowdfunding campaign, where all proceeds will go towards covering these costs. Donations over $20.00 are eligible for a tax receipt.

The Government of Alberta will match 50% of donations up to $5,000 in matching funds. To qualify for this matching, our campaign must raise at least $2,000 from a minimum of five different donors. Help us achieve our goal!

Our handsome Loki had a blast busting out of the shelter on Saturday!
He got to enjoy some much loved swimming in the river and observing the beauty of Echo Dale with one of our amazing staff members. πŸ‘£πŸΎ
Loki has been in our care since February, which is far longer than we imagined since he is such a melty boy. Loki is accepting of body massages πŸ’†β€β™‚οΈ, enjoys the company of other dogs, he loves the pool and now the river. 🌊
Rain or shine, Loki is always up for the outdoors, or some much appreciated TLC.
This guy certainly is a staff favorite, and we are wondering how come no one has scooped this good boy up yet?! 🀯

If you're looking for a fun-loving, kind spirited dude to join you in life, come meet Loki! 🫢

For more information on Loki, visit https://medhatspca.ca/adoptions-dogs/ or contact our office 403-526-7722

Are you able to give Loki a comfy place to lay his head until he is adopted?
Contact [email protected] or call our office.
Completed foster applications can be emailed to [email protected]

A NEW activity we're bringing along to this year's Pet Walk is Peanut Butter Lick Painting!

For a $5 donation, your dog can unleash their inner Picasso (Pupcasso?) and create a masterpiece for you to take home. (Please note, supplies will be limited and on a first-come first-serve basis).

This year's Pet Walk with the Medicine Hat SPCA will take place on Thursday June 6th from 6 to 8PM at the Kinette Picnic Shelter Space at Kin Coulee. Dress yourself and your pup up in purple, the colour of family violence prevention - there will be a number of family-friendly activities, prizes, refreshments and more!

We'll kick off the walk officially at 6:30PM, but folks are welcome to walk the route anytime during the evening - no registration is required!

We're also encouraging folks to show their support by bringing along donations for MHWSS and/or the Medicine Hat SPCA - Financial donations are always appreciated, or visit our websites to see the items we're most in need of - https://www.mhwss.ca/ & https://medhatspca.ca/

🌟 Thankful Thursday 🌟

This Thankful Thursday goes out to Kinley and Harlow, two amazing young artists with hearts of gold! 🎨🍦 They sold ice cream and some of their incredible artwork, and donated all the money raised to support the animals in our shelter. 🐢🐱.

Your kindness and generosity are truly inspiring, Thank you for making a difference in the lives of our furry friends! πŸ’–

06/04/2024

Due to the overwhelming amount of dogs needing rehoming and shelters continually running at full capacity, we are having to house dogs for longer periods of time. This creates heightened stress in the environment and for the dogs in these environments. Heightened stress in these environments causes what is known as shelter decline.

Shelter decline can look like - pacing, wall bounding, circling, wall licking, and not wanting to come in or go outside. For these reasons, and many more, foster homes are vital to both the mental and physical well being for these dogs. 🧠πŸ’ͺ

We currently have 25 dogs in our care, four of which are in foster care. If you are interested in fostering please reach out to us at [email protected] or 403-526-7722
Completed applications can be emailed to [email protected]
