The mission of the Medicine Hat Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals is to provide protective care for sick, injured, homeless and unwanted animals and to promote humane attitudes and responsible pet ownership. To accomplish this, there must be acceptance that humans are responsible for the welfare of animals; and there must be an understanding of the physical and behavioral needs of a

nimals. We have many community programs including our Spay Neuter Assistance Program (SNAP), Emergency boarding Services, Adoption services, Volunteer Program, Foster Program, Pet Safe Keeping and more. We also have a Pet Gear Store with many new and gently used pet items at discounted prices!!

Thank You, ATB Wealth & Medicine Hat Tigers 🏒🐯

A huge shoutout to ATB Wealth and the Medicine Hat Tigers for supporting our Chuck-a-Puck fundraiser! Thanks to their generosity—and the amazing fans who participated—we raised an incredible $2,532.35 for the animals in our care!

Every dollar goes toward providing food, medical care, and shelter for homeless pets in our community. We couldn’t do it without you!

Also a HUGE shout out to the U-13 Flyers with the Medicine Hat Minor Hockey Association for helping us sell pucks! The kids did amazing!

Thank you to all our local businesses who contributed to our raffle baskets!

Missy would thrive in a home where she is allowed to let her independence shine, she does enjoy her fair share of attention, however she also likes her boundaries to be respected. ✌️

With his charming personality, Mistletoe Magic Toes will steal your heart. 🩵

Mistletoe has feline herpesvirus (FHV-1)—a common viral infection in cats. It’s not contagious to humans or dogs, but it can cause occasional flare-ups, like sneezing or eye discharge, especially during times of stress. Most cats with FHV-1 live normal, happy lives with proper care!

Mistletoe would love a calm home where he can lounge in the sun and get all the love he deserves.

Curio is a husky lover's dream! Friendly, outgoing and full of energy! This handsome and playful guy loves rough-and-tumble games, so proper introductions are key when meeting new dog friends. He's a big fan of balls, toys, and running, making him an excellent jogging or biking partner. And if water is involved, Curio is all in! While Curio is an active adventurer, he's currently working on improving his leash manners, as he can be a bit of a puller. His behavior with cats is unknown, but he has been around livestock and children 9 and up. With his charming personality and love for life, Curio is sure to steal your heart in no time. If you're ready to keep up with this energetic and lovable boy, he's ready to join your pack!

We are beyond grateful to Cypress View Veterinary Clinic for their incredible care in saving three of our puppies who were battling parvo. Thanks to their dedication and expertise, these little fighters now have a second chance at life! 💙

Now, we need your help! These puppies are on the road to recovery and need foster homes—specifically, homes without other dogs to ensure their continued healing. If you can open your heart and home to one of these pups, please reach out to us!

What a transformation Bell has made in Foster Care! Her foster mom has been patient and so understanding while Bell has acclimated to their home and furry companions. 🫶 This is what she has to say about Bell: "Bell is an absolute sweetheart. She was so shy when she first came to us, but now she just loves being near you; whether for pets or just being in your presence. As soon as you enter the room she'll get up and run over to you. 😭She has the quietest little squeak of a meow. It has been a slow integration with her and our other pets, however, she is slowly coming around to them. Although she does prefer her own space, as long as they are respectful of her boundaries she is fine being around them. Bell was very over weight when we first got her, but now that she has lost weight she clearly feels much better! She can run and jump, and enjoys grooming herself!" 💛😍 Stories like these are why fostering is so integral to rescue!
