Medicine Hat's first Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) program is now in effect.

This newly-approved TNR operation will be administered by Medicine Hat SPCA and Persian Dreams and Canine Themes Rescue Society.

TNR programs are implemented as a means of effectively and humanely controlling feral cat populations.

Being a foster based rescue and not having an actual shelter we rely on foster homes. Unfortunately we have hit a bit of a lull with adoptions and now we have kittens growing up in rescue. Owen and Jackson pictured below and Arizona are at the Pet Valu Northlands location patiently waiting for a home. Callie, Jo, Alex and Izzie are in a foster home also patiently waiting for a home.
If you are able to foster a kitten or two please get in touch. Unfortunately until we are able to get some more adoptions we have to hold intake.

Izzie, Alex, Callie and Jo are still patiently waiting for homes.

These babes spent a couple of weeks at Pet Valu and had no interest ☹️ it’s heart breaking to see kittens growing up in rescue. They have since been spayed and neutered and are hanging out in a foster home.

Adopting not only provides a cat a home but also opens up a foster space to help another. Adopt 1 cat and save 2.

Continuing with the Greys Anatomy theme.. meet Derek, Owen, Jackson, George, Arizona and April!
These babies are around 7 weeks old. They have been vet checked, vaccinated, microchipped, dewormed and Fel Leuk/FIV tested.
Derek was found to have a grade 1-2 heart murmur. It shouldn’t affect him at all and he may grow out of it but he is looking for a special home that can keep an eye on this.
They are spending some time at Pet Valu in Crescent Heights.

Our Greys Anatomy litter made their way to Pet Value today.

Miranda, Meredith, Lexi and Cristina are seriously the sweetest babies. Playful and outgoing but then as soon as you pick them up, their motor starts running and they turn into purr machines.
All have had their first vaccines, been dewormed, vet checked and microchipped. Their adoption fee is $100 and they all come with a spay rebate of $50.

These 3 pups have recently come into our care. They are in a shocking state and are literally skin and bones. PDCT is going to do everything we can, to get them back on their feet. It is going to be a long slow road but these little guys deserve a chance. Based on their body condition they went a period of time without proper nutrition. They now have refeeding syndrome where we have to feed them small amounts of food, multiple times a day. It’s going to be weekly vet visits for a while till they are well enough to eat like normal puppies. They will be needing foster homes that can follow a strict feeding schedule. Have time to take them to the vet. Someone who can be patient, to teach them it’s ok to trust and show them what love is. If you are interested please fill out a foster app. These guys will not be up for adoption until they are ready, foster to adopt applications are welcome 🙂 If anyone would like to donate towards their care it would be greatly appreciated. We are in Desperate Need of FOSTER HOMES! Currently, we are looking for a foster or foster-to-adopt home for Midge. She is a beautiful 1-2 year old calico cat with so much love to give. Midge is quite the social butterfly and would do great in a home with other animals. Please keep in mind that we do not have a physical shelter, so we rely on a network of foster homes to care for and shelter the animals in our care. Without dedicated fosters, we wouldn’t be able to take in and help any hurt or homeless animals in need. Please consider opening your heart and home to these animals in need. We pay for everything, the food, litter, toys, and vetting of the animal’s needs. You just provide the LOVE!!
