Shark and Beach have been working on racing flyball together. This is really hard for a high minded Jack Russell and a young Border Collie. But they get better each week!
Since I can't handle BOTH my dogs at the same time, Lita and Chloe have stepped in to handle Beach. Well, this past Friday, I wanted to see if Shark would run for someone else. She's such a "mama's girl" so I was expecting her to struggle. NOPE! Chloe handled her and she did SO well! 🥰 It's the little things like that, that give the best feeling of accomplishment!
Check out these recent graduates of classes!
**LAST SESSIONS OF THE YEAR** starting November 2nd and November 7th.
Get your training in before the madness of Christmas gatherings start!
Flyball
I'm thinking of hosting an intro to Flyball seminar Saturday Oct 19th. You would learn what flyball is and have a try at the first skills all dogs need.
Dogs would work one at a time and would need to be in the car (preferably crated) when not working. Dogs need to be comfortable with people.
I've opened registration for this event. It will be Saturday October 19th 10am - whenever we're done

We were small but mighty tonight at flyball practice.
I'm so proud of my dogs!!
1)Shark Bait did full runs, carried her ball, WITH a dog tugging close by! 🤯 For her, that's amazing!! 🥰
2)Beach is figuring out how to channel her drive into her runs while holding it together. The run before this one felt slightly faster, but happy with this time!
3)Little Jelly Fish did restraints with a jump bump for the first time! I'm very happy with her striding over it and how she drove to grab the tug!
All 3 were such good girlies!
I'm going to bed on a high tonight!!
🥰🥰🥰
When you're keen to target but "high" from another dog training at the same time, and mom is behind you. 🤣
For anyone interested, I will be volunteering this weekend at the Battle (agility competition) hosted by FlatOut Dogs in Port Elgin. It's on Friday through Sunday. Leave FIDO at home, but you can come out to watch!
I'd like to officially introduce the newest member of the RUFF AF Family:
Instructor Chloe's baby Belgian Tervuren "Digit". 🥰
Already a tugging feen!!
It's super important when a dog is OBSESSED with something that you practice some emotional control/impulse control.
Shark breaks position once but still shows great verbal control to not just run over and jump in, until she's released! 💪
This is how everyone fills their pool, right? 🤣
Pool is set for agility classes tonight!
*STUDENT SUCCESS SHARE*
Evelyn and Keji have been coming for agility classes for about a year now. Evelyn is in highschool and Keji is her family's first agility dog.
On Friday May 10th, they entered their first trial. Here is the video of their very first run AND A QUALIFYING RUN!! With a 1st place finish as the cherry on top!
They make a great team together! Keji got distracted at times, but Evelyn did a fantastic job keeping her on task!
CONGRATULATIONS EVELYN & KEJI! 🎉🏆
A few RUFF AF FLYBALL TEAM members traveled to Fredericton today to train in green dogs at OMG's tournament.
How do you think we did?!?
(Pretty great if you ask me! ;) )
Here is the Novice course we did in our last Rally 1 class. I used food to help with confidence and precision. This is probably the most she's ever done consecutively, EVER!! I'm very happy with her skills! (Did you see that side step? Nice lateral motion!!)
🤯AMAZING DISCOVERY
How exciting is this?!?! HURRAW fits inside the Treat & Train!!! 🎉With the big disc, of course. But in general, a treat comes out so much faster than other treats, which prevents our poochies from getting frustrated. 😄
📣OTHER EXCITING NEWS
Hurraw has a frequent buyers program!! Buy 12 of any one size and get a 13th free! Who doesn't want a free box of training treats our dogs LOVE?!?!?
