I can generally tell what my dogs are thinking. It's a big reason why I can predict behaviour.

But we can't read their minds and know EVERYTHING they're thinking. Although that would be nice!!

Here's something I found to provoke a deep thought process.

I'm having some RUFF AF merchandise made up!!! Starting with shirts and hoodies.

In true LAUREN fashion, it has to be funny. 🤣 I'm going to have a series of designs with my various saying that I use when teaching.

This first edition is one of my favourites!

When teaching recalls, we want LOTS of drive! We build drive by motivating them as best we can. However, many people want to have their dogs start in a sit, which is not very motivating. We always joke "SITS ARE BUZZ KILLS!"
🤣🤣

I'm taking pre-orders if you want to secure one! I'm hoping to have some for the Bazaar, but cannot guarantee that they'll be ready.

Shark and Beach have been working on racing flyball together. This is really hard for a high minded Jack Russell and a young Border Collie. But they get better each week!

Since I can't handle BOTH my dogs at the same time, Lita and Chloe have stepped in to handle Beach. Well, this past Friday, I wanted to see if Shark would run for someone else. She's such a "mama's girl" so I was expecting her to struggle. NOPE! Chloe handled her and she did SO well! 🥰 It's the little things like that, that give the best feeling of accomplishment!

Shark doesn't like the cold. And so far, neither does Jelly. Can you blame them, really?? So, I ordered them custom pj's.

Thank you for the new jammies for Shark and Jelly! They fit great and look super cute!

They've been outside with them on, had a pajama party, and are now back to napping. :)

I often hear people say things like
- my 14wk old puppy is really good in the house off leash and sleeping loose at night
- they are really good with me touching their feet
- we're going to wait until they're a little older before training (puppy is already 5m old)
- (after completing a class) I'm going to master these skills at home, then come back for more training...and I'm sure there's more....

These are all red flags to me!! 🚩

-Training from a young age makes training much easier for the rest of their lives.
-If they are good now, it doesn't mean they're going to remain good at it. Dogs can change as they mature. (See pic below haha)
- NO ONE keeps up with their training, let alone MASTERS the skills on their own. I'm not saying they're not capable. I'm saying that no one sticks to it.

Training classes and a supportive training community helps keep you accountable.
Regular coaching helps you improve your handling and strengthen your dogs skills. WE ALL NEED COACHING! It's very easy to miss something when training on our own. It's very easy to say "I'm tired. I'll train tomorrow."

Agility Enthusiasts

This weekend is the UKI US Open. It's a national championship for UKI agility. It's a HUGE event! There are 6 rings, and I don't even know how many dogs... LOTS! 😆 There are many Canadians down in Florida competing. 💪🇨🇦

4 LEGGED FLIX is a YouTube channel that covers livestream for many agility events. They do a fantastic job and function off donations.

We have vendors from New Brunswick small businesses, as well as a dog community garage sale.

Yesterday, we started our last set of Saturday classes before the new year! (Crazy, right??)

How cute is little Cooper waiting for class to start, sitting on his bed, ON A CHAIR, with all his training stuff!?!? AW!

I'm sorry to anyone that had delayed communication from me this week!

It was stressful at times, but I got my daughter's Halloween costume finished JUST in the nick of time.

For those who aren't on my personal page, here is the finished product! :D I'm quite happy with how it turned out!! My Daughter really enjoyed 'parking' in various places around the neighbourhood. :D LOL
