Yesterday, we started our last set of Saturday classes before the new year! (Crazy, right??)

How cute is little Cooper waiting for class to start, sitting on his bed, ON A CHAIR, with all his training stuff!?!? AW!

For those wanting to get in on the fun, you have ONE last chance to get into classes before 2025! There is a 645pm DSS (impulse control) and an 8pm BLTN (basic obedience) starting Thursday November 7th.

I'm sorry to anyone that had delayed communication from me this week!

It was stressful at times, but I got my daughter's Halloween costume finished JUST in the nick of time.

For those who aren't on my personal page, here is the finished product! :D I'm quite happy with how it turned out!! My Daughter really enjoyed 'parking' in various places around the neighbourhood. :D LOL

Last night, Jelly Fish got to be a student for the first time! 🥰

Recently, I was near the end of teaching a PUPPY BASICS class but I had to stop to take some pictures.

EVERY PUPPY was passed out!! 🤣🤣

I'll say it until I'm blue in the face.... TRAINING is the BEST way to tire out your dog!! 😁

There are new classes for puppies older than 15wks starting soon!!

The next Puppy Basics will start Nov 2nd and will likely be the last one of the year!! 😲

I'm thinking of hosting an intro to Flyball seminar Saturday Oct 19th. You would learn what flyball is and have a try at the first skills all dogs need.

Dogs would work one at a time and would need to be in the car (preferably crated) when not working. Dogs need to be comfortable with people.

Take a look at this picture of the kids playing in the dome from 3 years ago that gives a small glimpse into the amount of work that went into our renovations to get RUFF AF up and running.

The number of hours that my team (my parents, husband, and myself) put in are immeasurable. We were definitely run down (not sure we've recovered yet LOL) but having someone visit our facility for the first time and say something like "you have a nice place here!" makes it all worth while. 🥰

Having to drive Kensie to cross country means an opportunity to train a dog. Today I chose Shark Bait as she never got opportunities like this as a puppy.

I generally cringe at seeing dogs in these types of situations. They're usually thrown in the deep end and have to sink or swim. Many hardly keep their heads afloat.

I keep my distance, work skills she's good at, then start to attempt the harder ones - making sure to offer guidance.

We take frequent breaks, including putting her in the crate in the car for some quiet time. (The weather today is perfect for that!)

Remember that "Socialization" doesn't mean throwing your dog in every situation and making them greet every person and dog. Being near is just as good! ;)

I often hear people struggling to tire out their dogs. "I could walk/hike/throw a ball for hours and they'd still have energy"
