Decoration with a Purpose !
What are Rhythm Beads ? Rhythm Beads are not new, they date back to the Native Americans who would adorn their horses with beads, shells and feathers. They believed these adornments held great powers to keep horse and rider safe, bringing good luck on their hunts. They also helped to keep the horses focus away from "dangers" and helped them to become "one".
Today they are used in all disciplines. They are good for nervous anxious horses as the jingle of the bells gives a calming effect and helps to desensitize. Can be used when lunging to help desensitize and get your horse into a nice flowing rhythm.
The beads can help both horse and rider with cadence as you become in tune with the rhythmic sound of the bells, much like a metronome in music classes. This can aid in adjusting pace and stride length, help with diagonals/leads.
Out in nature they alert wildlife and others of your presence and they give your horse a calming sound to focus on.
Sometimes known as "speed beads" they can also encourage your horse for a faster harder pace.
