Here at Angels it's our goal and our dream is that every dog we take in gets adopted into a loving home. That being said adoption is a huge change for the dog. Once adopted and in the home, a dog goes through three stages in order to settle in and become that perfect family dog we hope for you. Below is a video explaining these stages. Some go through these three stages quite quickly and others may take longer. Just being aware of these stages is so beneficial for our new dog adopters to help their new rescue dog navigate through them successfully.

Let's talk about how I found my dogs... If I'm being honest, I'm not proud.
My ignorance made me a part of the problem.

When you buy a puppy from Joe Blow you are not rescuing them. You are not doing them a service.

"Well if I didn't take them home they may have ended up in a shelter anyways"

-----> Let them! Let the shelter find them a suitable, vetted home. Give your money to the people who work tirelessly for their well being, who fundraise, donate their time, give these dogs their sweat and tears.

✖️ Stop putting money into the pocket of those not vaccinating and letting puppies die of parvo.
✖️ Stop supporting those eventually filling the shelters when they can't unload the litter.
✖️ Stop allowing these people who do not take responsibility for the lives they are bringing into this world for a quick buck. They will not be there when your dog develops behavioral or physical issues.

Both my boys came from a backyard greeder. I got lucky with the one, the second cost me over $10k.

I often kick myself so hard when I think of ALLLLL the dogs I could have helped with $10k - how many spays and neuters, how many surgeries, treatments, and vaccinations.

Fostering now I can honestly tell you that the most AMAZING dogs are waiting for a home. If you wait and search eventually the exact dog/puppy you're after will end up there. The idea that there is something wrong with shelter dogs couldn't be further than the truth, let's be honest you'll probably give your puppy an issue or two anyways lol.

My daughter once asked me "mom, why aren't any of our dogs rescues?" To which I responded "because I was ignorant".

Meet Billy (adoption pending)
This older gentleman may have a sweet sugar face but he still has a lot of play left in his step.
Are you looking for a calm companion well past the puppy stage? A walking or hiking buddy that won't pull you all over the trail? A fur friend to share a warm blanket and some Netflix binging? Then Billy is your boy!
This chocolate lab wants so badly to finally find a quiet forever home to live out his senior years and someone to share all his love. The amazing thing about older dogs like Billy is they are so appreciative to just hang out with their people.
Billy is in good health, approx 7-8 yrs old, neutered and updated with his vaccinations. He gets along with other dogs, well mannered, travels well and walks nicely on leash.

These puppies and their mom are now settled in at Angels and are showing us how sweet they are. Mom was named Gemma and is a happy playful Labdoodle.
Her four babies (2 girls and 2 boys) are just like their mom, happy-go-lucky and full of kisses. They are approx 5 months of age, vaccinated and ready to meet their foverver family.

Some of you may have seen this little boxer in Merritt, running scared and emaciated. Although we had our trap set, fear had her moving to fast and to far. With winter weather approaching we prayed that we’d beable to get her into our care before it was too late. Finally, we believe she was so desperate that she put her trust in this little family that was kind enough and patient enough to lure her to them. She is exhausted and extremely malnourished. But she is safe now and with Angels.
The little family that saved her have expressed interest in adopting her. But first we must get her into the vet, have her condition documented and work on helping her regain good health. Shame on the human that at some point, elected to love and care for this dog.

Remember the little Staffy that was found tied to a stop sign by our rescue that we named Zalen (means freedom 💕)
Well he is doing great here at Angels. He loves to run and play especially a game of fetch with his k9 friends. Zalen has also learned that bellrubs are amazing and will give you a tap with his paw to remind you not to stop.
This little guy is a small Staffy that is gentle and so sweet. He loves other dogs,truck rides, and long cuddles.
He is so ready to start his adoption journey and find his forever family. 💕🐾

These 8 month old Border Collie sisters came to us after their elderly owner could no longer care for them. They were loved and well socialized with other dogs and it shows in their sweet nature. These girls are calm and love to snuggle. When out on walks they come when called and check back often. They are smart and inquisitive. They already show traits of their herding breed and would make wonderful companions to an active family or farm lifestyle and would excel in dog sports that challenge their budding intelligence. They would then love to snuggle up with you and show you how much they love you.
These girl have already been spayed and up to date on their vaccinations.
