Fresh Fabric Friday - This fabric is all for my can or cow chasing, sunflower loving cowgirls. It’s freshly arrived and ready to be made into a western blanket or two with my cotton and wool 80/20 blend batting. Each pad is made to order so I can customize the size for each order.
Priced at $225 for a short wear leather and $250 for a longer wear leather. This print probably won’t stay around for long. I can make this print into an English pad too starting at $150. Proudly made in Metchosin BC by a cow chasing dressage saddle using rider. I’m definitely in the “Wenglish” style/camp these days.

So the best part of my week has been getting some amazing updates from riders I’ve been lucky enough to sponsor and support. Thank you so very much for keeping me and my handmade pads and blankets as part of your equestrian journeys 🫶. The best bit, it’s all connected by the state of California 🤯

Sarah Bradley is a Canadian rider who recently made the big trip from the Sunshine Coast to southern California to compete with her Horses Holly Golightly and Gunner in a WAWE qualifier. Not only did she ride using my pads (along with another Canadian rider Jane Stone), she won the competition at the L7 Masters level! Here’s a photo (credit to Brooke Louise Creative) of Sarah and Gunner in Southern California last month. I’m so stinking proud of all the Canadians that made the trip and really shined in the competition. 🤩

Gigi is an absolute ray of sunshine for making my day every single time I get to message with her. Here’s the backstory… a couple of years ago I got the most random sponsorship request from the Northern California Jr. Rodeo Queen Competition. I could not say no, as this was pretty much the most hilariously crazy thing that has ever happened to me. I’m now proud to say I have made a few pads for these young women for two years now. My blankets that are now out in the rodeo circuit proudly used by the competitors that won their Horsemanship categories. How delightful this random ask has become! Thank you Gigi for being the absolute legend of a rodeo queen and I’m so proud to be a small part of your journey 🥰

So, I may be the worst business owner ever, but I’m having the best time making some items for use by some of the best horsewomen on earth. Ride on my Cowgirls. For all my people that order from me… Thank you for being the reason why I keep going! 🫶 Your support means that we can all be the support for something even bigger than just a really great pad for our horses comfort. Next year’s prize packs are getting rather exciting!!! With some 27 Cedars lucky socks, some Soul Sister charms and a few smaller items from my studio, 27 Cedars is here to cheer and support.

I’m looking forward to supporting some riding excellence in different equestrian disciplines. All of these items are sourced and supporting local Vancouver Island businesses. How cool is this!

Not a show type of person but still want these socks? I’ll make them available for purchase once I receive them.

Happy Thanksgiving! Give thanks to family, friends and the most wonderful horses this Thanksgiving Sunday.

It’s a whole month of “Thanks” and “Giving” at 27 Cedars.

I’m kicking off my new fundraising campaign this Sunday. The Blue Northern Lights, and red “Go Canada!” prints are currently in the USA competing with the Sarah Bradley and her horses Gunner and “Holly Go Lightly”. For the next month, all saddle pads and Western Blankets will have a portion donated to team Bradley. $30 from the “Easy care” Pads and $55 from each of my cotton and Vancouver Island Wool saddle pads or western blankets too. Both of these featured prints will have an additional $20 given to Sarah to help her reach her goals of competing in Spain with Holly go Lightly.

Watch Sarah, Gunner and Holly kick butt in California at the livestream posted by Equimotion on YouTube. Hear me shout excitedly at my poor tv from Metchosin🤣. Fresh Fabric Friday is a day early this week. It’s another pre-order exclusive. 🤩 These fabrics are not yet printed but I have the ability to order them for your next favourite pad. The catch, I will not have the pads ready until early December, just before Christmas.

So here’s the full details:
- Order for the fabrics will be placed this Sunday. I cannot add to the order afterwards.
- A $50 deposit gets your fabric ordered and Christmas shopping started early😉. Final payment will be needed at completion of your order, shipping costs for finished pads will be free. 🥳
- You get to choose your batting, shape and size at time of order.
- prices for these will be $150 for English easy care batting, $250 for English cotton and wool, $225 for Western Single Cinch blanket and $250 for Western double cinch blanket. A 20/80 wool and cotton batting is used for all my western blankets.

Fresh Fabric Friday is back! I’m going with some fall flavour this week. But all are definitely very “North” appropriate. These fabrics can be made into a Western blanket or English pad and have prices starting at $150. Send me a message to get your new favourite pad or blanket started. 🍁

Fresh Fabric Wednesday??? Why not! So, I’m early on this week’s post, but it only gets more confusing from here lol.

I have the opportunity to order this fabric from a Canadian designer/supplier but we will not actually get the fabrics for about 2.5 months, late October/early November pad/blanket delivery. Your order needs to be placed by this Saturday and then we wait.

If you want to start the process: pick your fabric, let me know what shape of pad and I will ask for a $50 deposit to get you in the queue. Final details and decisions (batting, wither shape, trim, etc) we will make when the fabric arrives.

It’s a bit of a schedule/routine shake up, but let’s try it out!
