Coming into this season I had 3 personal goals I really wanted to accomplish.

1. Surpass $10,000 NRHA lifetime earnings.
2. End the year in the top 20 money earners in the Limited Open category for the World 🌎
3. Show in my first NRHA approved futurity

Most importantly thank you to the horses💗 The ones who made this possible, the ones who taught me the most, the ones who tried the hardest and the ones who put me exactly where I am today.

- 1 1/2. = Extremely Poor
- 1. = Very Poor
- 1/2. = Poor
0. = Correct
+ 1/2. = Good
+1. = Very Good
+1 1/2 .= Excellent

Hint. It was the highest marked maneuver of the show ✨️

It's been a very busy start to the summer, we attended multiple shows and brought home a cheque every time out ! Here are some shots from the Valley Reining Horse Association NRHA summer slide show.

Cardi was calm and cool for her first few trips in the pen and had some very nice confidence building runs placing 2nd and 4th in a tough green horse lvl 1&2 class

Link was Mr. Consistent as always marking a weekend high 73 to co Champion the NRHA Novice Horse lvl 2 and Champion NRHA Novice Horse lvl 1, he was also Champion NRHA Open & Limited Open with a 71.5

Jami-lee Smith was Champion NRHA Non Pro & Limited Non Pro on Sunday with a very pretty 71 !

Very proud of these 2 talented horses and I'm counting the days until the next one

4yo Diaman H Trifecta learning how to lay down some 11’s 🔥

This mare likes to over achieve and really anticipates changing leads when going across the diagonal. She would gain speed, lift her head and change leads even if I didn’t ask. I’ve spent the last week working on her mind while riding the diagonal with great results. Here’s a clip of it all coming together. I can’t wait to see this mares progress over the coming months. Thanks Tessa for trusting me to invest the time into Itchy!!

We’re back home and settled from a great weekend at the NBCRA show! Huge thanks to the organizers and sponsors for a great weekend! This was the first trip in the pen for link and he showed great for me. We ended up 4th in the Derby with some of the best riders and horses in the maritimes! I couldn’t be more proud with how he handled the busy atmosphere and long days ! Bring on the next one 💪 Jami-lee Smith

Bio

Kempton Phillips started exploring his love for horses at the young age of 3. Throughout youth he found his true passion; reining which lead him into successfully showing all throughout his youth years.

Knowing that he wanted to work in a profession with horses he decided in 2014 to travel to Oklahoma to attend Parcell Oklahoma Horse Shoeing School. After returning home he worked hard at starting a business as a professional farrier.

In 2017 Kempton had an opportunity to continue his passion of riding by training professionally. Since 2017 kempton has attended clinics with multiple NRHA professionals and natural horsemanship professionals allowing him to continuously learn new things. The continuous learning has allowed Kempton to create a program that focuses on starting young horses as well as training reining horses to be connected, confident, and soft setting the horse up for success in its future.

Although Kempton focuses on reining the starting foundation of his program fits with many other disciplines.
