Can I just say WOW to our puppy class!
Look at these three doing a spectacular job with their recall! Here we have all three puppies engaging in the same activity, but we have the one in the middle going the opposite direction.
We use the place as a visual boundary to put food on to get ourselves at a distance, and then we say the puppies name with leash pressure if needed, followed by the recall command.
Everyone did such a great job! Well done Laika, Walnut and Maizie ⭐️🥰

Especially for a smaller breed, we want to give them all of the confidence in the world! No matter the size we want to show them that they have 100% confidence to tackle any situation!
She will be raised around big dogs so she is going to be one confident little lady but also because she is small, I want to make sure that if she does get accidentally stepped on or bumped, it is absolutely no big deal to her! She should be able to bounce back and move on!

Georgie did a fantastic job with her first lesson!
This girl has a great disposition and an understanding of her basic commands, but applying those commands in certain situations is a different story.
We broke down her commands tonight. I showed her mom how to make the commands more clear and how to get Georgie to put the pieces together. By the end of lesson one, she was already doing a place command and laying down automatically. She is listening to a verbal down command and she is also learning to go to her mat for door threshold. Georgie can also be very reactive with people and dogs walking past the house so she must learn her boundaries.
Georgie has signed up for our private lesson program and after lesson one, I have a lot of high expectations for this smart girl over the next five weeks! Here she is doing her mat command with her mom. The only time she made a mistake is when she anticipated her reward! After a quick reset, she held her position until mom rewarded her!

One of the activities my personal dogs do is walking on the treadmill.
If I am working with others who are here for training or daycare it is a great outlet for them to be able to focus on something while I am busy. All of my dogs can do the treadmill without a leash on, but I am always right there in the living room supervising. Especially on frigid days outside, it is a nice outlet for any dog just to be able to have another source of exercise and mental stimulation as well!
Of course for a job well done they still get treats! Sometimes they get treats every couple of minutes sometimes they get the treats at the end. They are still always getting paid for their work as well and they are always looking forward to the next reward!

Class two and already the dogs are doing much better with their focus and impulse control!
Here we have the two girls Leia and Whiskey on place while Mr.Jaxon approaches into a sit. Then I walk by with Stark and then call Drako passed the dogs. Everyone must resist the impulse to follow or dart away from the handler.
Absolutely fantastic job well done by all of the dogs! They all observed what was going on, but held position and then refocused back to the handler.

Harley, Bonnie, Kali and Hank all did a fantastic job with learning to do jumps in a curved motion! All handlers as well are getting the hang of directing their dog to the next obstacle.
Man this was a fun one! Once when the dogs were unleashed and tying it all together, they were having having a blast! Their recall as well was amazing and focus on their handler was great!

Beginner class 1 Jaxon, Leia and Whiskey did a fantastic job!
All dogs got introduced to their new training leash and got started on a new visual boundary. After only about 10 minutes of working, each team was able to drop their leash and increase more distance with their dog! All of these dogs had an understanding of a visual boundary, but did not know how to apply it. After clear communication and introduction all three picked up on it very quickly!

The treadmill is a fantastic tool for any dog! It can be used for exercise, rehab, mental stimulation, and much more! For a lot of dogs learning the treadmill at first is a great confidence booster, and learning to figure out a new activity. A lot of high energy dogs enjoy the treadmill as a way of draining any excess energy or if the weather is not ideal for outings. For people who live in the country as well who cannot do regular walks, it can be another great tool to have. Here is Bowie showing off his skills! First, I will always work the dog to introduce the tool and find the speed that works for them. Then I hand it over to the owners to do themselves. Over the first few days the owners are then given specific instructions on how to continue the introduction of the treadmill. After only a couple of days, I was then sent an update on how Bowie was doing and results couldn’t be more fantastic! “Hey Bec! Wanted to send this! This has changed our mornings for the better! Now Bowie spends 10-12 minutes on his treadmill and then we head outside for a quick game off fetch!
