Recently we had a cat come in to be seen as she was having uncontrollable seizures. She had no previous history of seizures and was a young healthy girl. Earlier in the day her owners had applied a flea and tick treatment they had purchased from a pet store. Unfortunately we have been seeing a rise in cases just like this, where exposure to these products leads to toxicity. It is always best to consult your vet before using an over the counter treatment. Thankfully for this girl, with hospitalization and intensive care she was able to make a full recovery!

October is Vet Tech Month!

October 13th-19th specifically is vet tech week.

In honour of everything that our technicians do, we thought we would give you a glimpse of what exactly a veterinary technician does. They are the superheros behind the scenes doing more than you can imagine to provide the best quality of care to your pets.

On Wednesday, our managers travelled to PEI to go to the Atlantic Veterinary College career fair. It was a great opportunity to talk to the future generation of veterinarians, and get to know what they’re interested in and what is important to them. Veterinary medicine is always advancing and it’s important to not only stay up to date, but to learn from younger generations who are experiencing firsthand how new protocols or techniques are enhancing the lives of animals!

We will be closed on Monday September 2nd for entire day. The clinic will reopen on Tuesday September 3rd at 7:30 am. If you need food or medication before then, we are open until 6 pm today.

Dr. Sam got to see Diego today. Diego was very involved in his exam today and even watched as Dr. Sam wrote his file. 10/10 good boy 💕

✨Rice has found a home✨
Little miss Rice is still available for adoption! She is the sweetest little girl, that loves to play. She is FIV/FeLV negative, has had her first set of vaccines, and has had flea/tick/dewormer. If you are interested in adopting her, give us a call! 506-773-7845
