Dear clients,

We know everyone is excited about the prospect of a mask free world, given the changes to the mask mandates tomorrow. However, for the time being, MVH will remain a mask mandatory practice while inside our building. This will give staff a chance to finish up their vaccine series, as well as we do have team members with compromised family at home that we do not want to risk. Please be kind and courteous and respect our workspace, as we would for you.

When it rains, it pours....

Our frozen pipes have developed into burst pipes. This has caused flooding of our main treatment area, surgery suite, pharmacy and food room. Please be patient with us this week as we try to assess damages, deal with damaged stock, and clean up. Surgeries may be postponed, but appointments should run as normal.

Like many Mission residents, our pipes have frozen and we have no running water. Being a hospital, we are unable to perform surgery this time. We will be closing at 1pm today due to staff safety (no bathroom facilities) and surgeries may be postponed this week. Sorry for any inconvenience this may cause.

Good afternoon,

We hope everyone is fairing well in this crazy weather.

Please be advised that due to the flooding and damages, that our regular suppliers will be experiencing difficulties getting us food, medications and supplies. We will do our best to ensure everyone gets the food and medications they need, but please call ahead to ensure that we have it in stock.

If you are unable to get to the clinic for a prescription refill, please call and let us know and we can either send it to another vet or a pharmacy for pickup.

We may need to limit refills to smaller quantities if we are running low on certain medications, as none of us know when things will return to normal.

We all need to work together to get through this.

Good morning valued clients. In honor of National Day for Truth & Reconciliation, we will be limiting appointments on Thursday, September 30th to urgent only appointments. We will be taking this opportunity to do some additional staff training, but also allow our staff the time they need to reflect and learn about Indigenous culture and the injustices they have faced. Please arrange to pickup food and medications either before or after Thursday. Thank you for your understanding.

COVID-19 UPDATE:
As we all know, things are starting to open up and we are nearing back to normal routines in our day to day life. In an effort to keep staff and clients safe, we have updated our protocols regarding Covid safety.

We highly recommend clients wear masks in our reception area, but they are no longer mandatory. We are still limiting exposure, so we request that if your pet is coming for a routine appointment, you remain in your car or in the lobby while the Veterinarian does his exam. This limits person to person contact in a confined area. If you have a sick pet, or a pet that does better with you, please let us know when you schedule your appointment. 1 person may be allowed in the exam room, but masks are MANDOATORY if in an exam room.

Any staff you see in the building without masks have been fully vaccinated. They will continue to wear masks in the room with clients, and if you wish for a member to wear their mask when speaking to you, please let them know. All staff have been asked to have a mask on them at all times for when needed.

As always, we request that you respect our policies. The safety of our staff, clients and patients remain our priority.
