🎃 a look at a few of our recent guests and some of our resident four legged friends 🐢 🐾 💜 Bowser the giant sulcata tortoise will never turn down a chance to be up close and personal with his favourite treat…PUMPKINS! He will get to snack on these once we’re done with them. Did you know pumpkins & their seeds are safe for consumption, full of fibre, and can actually aid as a natural dewormer? Not to mention it’s a favourite treat of many of our critters, dogs included!

Thank you all for your patience as we unpack our new home and set up for your pups to have a comfy & cozy stay! 🏡 🐕

Jaxx was the first overnight guest at our NEW location. You read that right!! We’ve EXPANDED to a second location 🥳 🐾 🐕
We now have acres of forest and trails, with a creek flowing through the property for your pups to explore! Along with an at home environment during quiet time, that offers much more space to play or rest inside.
Stay tuned for video/picture updates as we transition to our new location. Don’t worry we’re still doing pick up and drop offs as usual.

🎶 Go Go Godzilla 🎶 meet Godzilla, a gorgeous blue tongue skink and one of our recent additions to the THPets zoo crew 🦎 💜 Godzilla is a fan favourite here! The kids can’t get enough of this unique critter 😻
Can you guess why this lizard is called a blue tongue skink?...I’ll give you a hint, their name is pretty accurate....they have a BLUE tongue!!! 😛 💙 this lizard is known for sticking out their colourful tongue as a means to ward off potential predators, they can also muster up a pretty fierce sounding *HISS* as a warning to others. Kinda like a snake 🐍
Biologists think this critter adapted and evolved over time to mimic other regional snakes as a means to...you guessed it...scare off predators. Though these critters look very snake like they have quite powerful arms with rather sharp claws, though their arms are rather short and not suitable for extensive climbing. These lizard are known to be terrestrial, meaning you’ll most likely find them close to the ground.
Can you name another animal that has a blue tongue? I’ll give you a hint...they also have a very looooong neck! 🦒

Meet Popcorn 🍿 a BLIND (IMG) albino boa, she is one of our newest additions to the TH Pets zoo crew pictured here with Reptile Rachael 💛 🐍 💜
You may be asking yourself: how does a blind snake find food to eat? Well, snakes have a very special (super powerful) smell sensor called the Jacobson’s organ, which sits right above the roof of their mouth.
Have you ever noticed how snakes flick their forked tongue? That’s how snakes gather chemical information from the air. When a snake brings their tongue back into their mouth all that information is fed to the Jacobson’s organ allowing them to “smell”
