Remember Morty?
He's still looking for his forever home.
He's a two-year-ole husky mix boy who doesn't get along with cats, but would love. A home with older kids and/or doggy siblings.
He's been from Caledon to Toronto and now he's living a great foster life in Erin, ON. But finding a family to love him forever and give him stability is what he needs.
Learn more about Morty through his online profile below and find out how you can adopt him today on our website.

Please share his story with friends and family!
Halfway Home enjoyed celebrating Ren’s Rescue Day at their Kitchener, Markham and Stouffville locations!
Thank you to Be Yoga & Wellness for having our pups for some yoga.
It was great socialization and we hope someone might have also fallen in love enough to consider adoption.
Thanks to everyone who came out and gave our rescues some love!
We hope you're having as good of a long weekend as Teddy with his foster fail forever family!
We bring you a special #HalfwayForeverHome this May long weekend.
Do you remember Teddy? He originally came to us with Freddy, two siblings from Greece. These two brothers were under the care of an elderly gentleman who suddenly died. Sadly the options were release them to the streets or take them in. Our rescue partner, already overwhelmed with her own dogs started caring for them temporarily, but asked for our help.
Teddy came to us at the beginning of September 2023 and found a foster home with Erin and Andrew (his now forever parents).
Just last month, in April, Erin and Andrew decided they couldn't live without making Teddy an official member of the family.
Now he is living his best life. This is him enjoying his cottage on an island in PEI.
Have a great weekend everyone!
In the wee hours of May 11th, a member of our team took off for Timmins to drop of supplies and pick up Northern mix rescues for us to foster and find homes for.
Along the way, they got a flat tire and went to a Kal Tire where they were treated so well! They found out about our organization and didn't charge us for their help which meant the world to us! Shout out to their amazing company!
When they arrived, over 900lbs of supplies were unloaded from the vehicle and will be transported up north by Air Creebec.
Then our team met the adorable puppies and dogs who had a long drive back to our home base and will be fostered until they are ready to find their forever homes.
These dogs aren't available right away, but keep an eye out in the coming weeks once they are ready and have profiles.
We couldn't make trips like this without your support so thank you for donating or adopting from us to make finding homes for rescues possible.
Yesterday was a big success at the Pet Valu at 5111 New Street in Burlington, ON!
We hosted a Meet n' Greet with a few of our older and younger Northern rescued puppies who are still looking for homes.
Reach out to us and we'll direct you to their profiles if you're interested in one of the pups in the reel!
We hope that your Monday is off to a great start.
Thank you to Pet Valu for having us and for the attendance we had today in Markham, ON!
We had a wonderful time (especially the Northern mix puppies up for adoption) meeting everyone and talking rescues!
Keep an eye on our Instagram and Facebook for more information on our adoptable dogs and future Meet n' Greets.
Have a fantastic Sunday night!
Fender | Male ♂️ | 8 Weeks Old | Northern Mix 🐺 | Dogs: Yes | Cats: Yes | Kids: Yes
Dating Bio: Enjoys a carefree walk in the park. Looking for someone to take the lead and wander through life with.
Adoption Bio: Fender is so very playful and loving! He is such a happy boy, he rarely barks and is very good in his pen overnight (he is being pen trained rather than crate trained).
Fender currently uses the pee pad and goes outdoors with few accidents in the house, but he will still need some work. He can sit and his fosters are teaching him to give a paw.
He loves playing with toys, playing outside with his foster dog friends and hanging out with his humans.
Fender is incredibly sweet and enjoys cuddles. He will make a great companion and family member to owners who are willing to have patience and continue regular puppy training.
He is current on age appropriate vaccines and is being fostered in Markham, ON.

Since 2021, we have found forever homes for nearly 500 dogs.
During that time, we've had a part in finding homes for approximately 300 Northern Mix dogs - that's over 200 straight from the streets and about 100 pups who were born in our foster care!
We couldn't do any of this without the people who help transport the dogs from their Northern communities, back to us. Whether it be by ground or by air, we owe it all to those who bring the dogs to us and their foster's.
Our last transport was completed by Northern Reach Network. They saved 29 dogs and 41 cats! They split the rescues up between various rescue organizations like ours; we took in 5 pups from one litter and 3 from another.
The pups are about 8 weeks old now and are listed on our website under adoptable dogs.
Let's give our transport support some love and remember that rescuing a dog takes many loving hearts and hands along the way!
Chinook | Male ♂️ | 4 Months Old | Husky Mix 🐺 | Dogs: Yes | Cats: No | Kids:Yes
Chinook is still looking for his forever home - help him find one!
He loves walking around the neighborhood and stopping to smell the roses. He wrestles and plays tug of war with his Labrador foster sister Willow.
Chinook is the cutest when he gets the zoomies and loves running around in the yard. He's a big toy guy, but he also likes to snuggle up with his foster sister.
He is a very fast learner and has improved so much since he came to stay with his foster home, but he still has the odd accident after a fun play session in the house.
Chinook has never been around cats so we don’t know how he will react with them.
He is quite vocal (it's the husky in him 🐺) and barks often, we are working on manners for that. He does a very good howl that is just the cutest.
Chinook is current on vaccinations. He is located in Guelph, Ontario.

📣ADOPTED📣
Firefox 🔥🦊 | Female ♀ | 3 year’s old | Spayed| Husky x | 40lbs | Dogs: Yes, with proper introductions | Cats: Untested, not recommended | Kids: 16+
This sweetie pie is still up for adoption!
Dating Bio: I’m a foxy lady who loves to cuddle after a long day. I'm a big foodie and I'm looking for a forever family with an appetite to live life to the fullest!
Adoption Bio: Firefox, a recent mama bear, is a beautiful husky mix!
Although she's been through a lot in life, but she's ready to live a spoiled, loving life that she deserves. ❤️
Firefox came from a community in Fort Albany with her five newborn puppies nearly three months ago. They lived outside, and she had to give birth in frigid temperatures, but Mama Firefox did an amazing job keeping her babies safe and warm until help came.
Her pups have left home and we are looking for a home for our empty nester. You're never too old to find your happily forever after
If you think Ember, Cinder, and Inferno are cute puppies on our page, Firefox is why - she's their mom!
Firefox is well-behaved around people and she loves attention, always aiming to please with everything she does.
She occasionally show some resource guarding behaviour towards other dogs when it comes to high value items or when cuddling with her foster parents, but again, she is very sensitive to correction and has already come a long way in a short time! Because of this, we are looking for experienced adopters for our miss Foxy Cleopatra.
Firefox is current on vaccinations and spayed. She is located in Erin, Ontario.
