Here’s a great article from the Ontario SPCA and one of the many topics we cover in our My New Puppy class. Also when your are done - remember to check yourself and dog for ticks. Another thing to check - look under your dogs paws - unfortunately a few times my dogs have had cuts and sticky goop under there. So, now they wear booties when hiking. Happy hiking!!

I often tell new doggie parents when you don’t hear or see your dog for awhile. They are usually up to no good or sleeping 😁 I hadn’t seen Charlie for a few minutes - called his name he didn’t come running. I walked around the corner and saw him like this. Somehow his collar got stuck in the carpet. No idea how that happened 😮 Life with dogs 🐩🐩🐩

Does it matter what type of shoes you wear when walking your dog? It sure does ☹️ These look comfy but they weren’t. Won‘t be wearing these again. Had to cut the walk a little short. BUT I did manage to walk for an 1.5 hours 😀

For new doggie parents - make sure that you are feeding your pup the right amount of food as they grow. Check the back of your dog food for the age and measurements. They grow so quickly, so write it down somewhere or put a reminder in your phone. Have a great week!

The classes are a single ½ day session - the My New Puppy runs on Saturdays and the My Doggie Parent runs on Sundays.
