🚨 SWEET PEA, NOW DAISY, HAS LEFT THE BUILDING...

Sometimes it takes a while to find their match & sometimes it's instantaneous! We're excited to share that Daisy, has been adopted & went to her Furever family today!

Her pawrents are so happy to welcome her home! Her 3 big brothers , Turbo, Teeter & Winston are going to absolutely love playing tag & cuddling with their new little sister! When you know, you know & Daisy chose well!

There is no greater gift than replacing their suffering & it fills our hearts to know that Daisy will never be bred, that she'll be spayed instead & live the good life indoors!

We are so fortunate to be blessed with the most wonderful & kind adopters! ❤️🐾

❤️ Guess who's ready for his FUREVER - EVEREST! ❤️

Everest was our New Years day gift to the world! About to be another casualty of the shelter telling well intentioned finders to "throw them back outside", Maria knew Everest needed help but between this instruction & no microchip, her options were limited. She posted him in Lost Pets of Mississauga trying to find his family but had no luck & ended up having to release him! Not realizing Everest had already been released, we contacted the poster to offer our help but we were too late & Everest had run away into the cold. We left our contact information with them should he return & that's exactly what he did the next day! He came back screaming & crying for help the same way he had the day before but now there was a safe place for him to land - RBAR!

Everest is affectionate, rambunctious, playful, loving & waiting for his furever family! Everest's perfect match will have a feline friend for him to cuddle into & wrestle with!

❤️ HUGO UPDATE!

To say this little (big) man has touched our hearts, goes without saying. The outpouring of love, compassion, advocacy, support & kindness we've seen for Hugo has been beyond inspiring!

Hugo underwent his life saving cystotomy today & our ever compassionate vet partner, Dr. Hanna, confirmed it was a success! Initially on X-ray it was believed we had 3 large stones that had doubled in size in the last month but when they went in, found 4 large, jagged edged stones & this is why it's life saving surgery. If any one of these stones had dislodged from Hugo's bladder into his urethral area, it would have caused a life threatening 100% blockage, which is why he had been urinating blood for months, possibly years. It was also noted that a portion of Hugo's bladder appeared necrotic & almost as if there was a separated sac on the side.

We'll never know his story but we get to write his triumphant graduation to loved & adopted house cat for life! To say Hugo hit the jackpot of families, well, he truly landed with the best & I couldn't be more grateful or more blessed for all of the kind souls that continue to bless us with their circle of kind souls. It's a magical chain of kindness that I will never have enough gratitude for!

Your words of encouragement, your endless acts of kindness, your demonstrations of support, I cannot convey enough, I have been moved to tears today & many days for your generosity & for giving every soul that lands at Rainbow's Bridge the best start in their new life!

❤️ Sweet Pea Update:

To say this little love has captivated the hearts of many would be an understatement. She's quickly shown she was loved at some point by how eager she is to be close to us, to lay in our arms & receive all of the snuggles as seen here with one of our weekly volunteers!

We were able to learn that this little love had been waiting outside for over 6 days, crying at individuals, freezing, asking to come inside. I won't linger in how disheartened I am that city shelters continue to tell well intentioned finders to "put them back outside" but if you ever receive this instruction, this is not the right thing to do. 6 days ago, she ran, shivering into someone else's home as they posted on a lost pets group but somehow, 6 days later she had to ne saved again in the same condition. This is wrong & we need to do better as a society & as individuals. If it feels wrong to put a 5 to 6 month old kitten outside in -20 C, that's your conscience, please listen to it. It is wrong to put them back outside & this is the 2nd kitten that's come into care under these circumstances in the last month.

Let's skip to the good stuff, she's here now at the Bridge, we're so thrilled to have her staying with us while we find her perfect match! She had a bit of a half bath today to try & clean the p**p & goop off her Paws & out of her ears, though she wasn't a willing participant, she was a wonderful patient & it's been a real joy to care for her. Sweet Pea received her revolution mauve treatment for ear mites, fleas & worms. She's had a bit of an upset tummy while her body processes out these buggies & I anticipate shell be feeling herself in no time at all.

Sweet Pea will be spayed, microchipped & vaccinated within the month & we have a feeling her family has already found us! Stay tuned for Sweet Pea updates!

❤️ Sweet Hugo - Story Time...! ❤️

Once upon a time, there was a magical little man named Hugo. He thought humans were wonderful. No matter how many families denied him care & left him in pain, he continued to serve them, love them & choose them at every turn.

When his first family saw blood in his urine they didn't take him to the vet, they contacted someone they knew with a warehouse & asked if they'd want a mouser for their warehouse. Hugo was dropped off with all of his worldly possessions to live in a warehouse & be a mouser. This lasted 4 months, until blood was noted in his urine. The individuals contacted the previous family who said it was normal. We were then contacted by a good samaritan that alerted us to Hugo's situation.

When given the opportunity to do the right thing for this soul, not one but TWO families opted out & passed the buck. I will never understand how their suffering is deemed acceptable when the first thing someone does when they're in pain is seek medical attention. As if their pain is less or less important. The story doesn't end here & this is why we need to keep going...

Hugo arrived in care. 4 vet visits, 3 rounds of antibiotics, 4 X-rays, pain killers & 1 magical human referred to us by more magical humans.

We were contacted by the brother of a previous adopter who said I saw Hugo & I'd like to meet him. I think he's the perfect playmate for my current cat & that they'd hit it off. Of course we pumped the breaks & spent the next 30 minutes going down the laundry list of challenges that Hugo was experiencing, expecting his condition would improve, but also expecting this adopter to not walk, but run in the opposite direction.

Instead he said, wow, this guy has been through so much. I'd love to meet him... 😳 Pick up my jaw & take my heart out of my throat because how are we this blessed? To consistently find the most kind, compassionate & loving souls. Hugo met his potential adopter not once but twice & they hit it off & became instant cuddle buddies!

We expected good news when we brought him in for yet MORE xrays today. We were so excited to call Hugo's adoptive dad & give him great news. But we were met with...

Last Saturday we posted our fundraiser for the cats in care at Rainbow's Bridge Animal Rescue. In one day you helped us raise 2K (1K for RBAR & 1K for one lucky winner) which is going a long way to help with the $2500 urgent veterinary expenses we've incurred over the past couple of weeks.

A couple of days ago we noted a slight herniation on Rowan's tummy & we're now jumping into an additional surgery unexpectedly on Monday to repair his umbilical hernia so these funds are beyond appreciated as they allow us to provide care to our little loves as needed, when needed, without delay!

All that to say we are so pumped to jump on an Instagram live tonight to draw the winning number LIVE to find out who the lucky recipient will be!

Over the past week & nearly 2 years truly, you, this epic village of loving souls, have rallied around Rainbow's Bridge Animal Rescue in ways I never thought could be possible. I'm regularly left without words, just tears from the overwhelming gratitude I've experienced over this short time & the past week has been no exception. From donors, to volunteers, to adopters, to resources being shared I'm left in awe at the beauty & kindness of so many pure souls & magical hearts. 🚨 OVER THE WEEKEND... While running the fundraiser, we were getting incredible aid in another way - An absolutely epic food donation! The magical souls that have come together in our short time of operation to draw us in, connect us with resources, share resources, I cannot share my thanks enough.

Simmons Pet Food On, Inc. - When a difficult closure occurred, they could have pitched it all. It's easier to dump it than it is to try to connect with local rescue groups, arrange trucks, arrange forklifts, arrange pick up times. But they did that for the animals & because of that kindness, an epic list of rescues have food for the cats in care.

To Laura, Nikki, Mary & every other helping hand that made this possible for us, our deepest gratitude. I can't extend enough thanks to you all for your kindness! ❤️🐾

🚨 CAN YOU HELP US, HELP THEM? The last 2 weeks has been pricey with 4 new intakes & 3 out of 4 proving to be medical cases initially & some still ongoing. Our vet bills have emptied our funds & we're hopeful we can rally together to raise funds to continue their care but also to purchase the food & litter we go through monthly which is approximately $1000 - $1500 per month!
