🪱What are ? Heartworms are parasitic roundworms transmitted by mosquitoes. They can cause severe damage to pets’ hearts and lungs if left untreated. Prevention is crucial through regular medication.
🦟Where do they come from? Heartworms are transmitted to pets through the bite of infected mosquitoes. When a mosquito bites an infected animal, it picks up microscopic heartworm larvae along with its blood meal.
🐕What are the symptoms? Symptoms of heartworm disease in pets include coughing, difficulty breathing, fatigue, reduced appetite, and weight loss.
