Hello to our competitors for the December 7 Meadowlarke South Schooling Show Grand Finale. Following are the horse assignments for each of the divisions The Beginner division has been split into two flights due to the number of entries. This has helped accommodate as many horse preferences as possible whilst also ensuring that none of the horses are overworked during the day.

A few days before the show we will send out some timing estimates to help you plan your show day.

CHECK OUT THE YEAR TO DATE STANDINGS in the Competitions section of the South website or on the wall by the lessons lists. High point awards will be handed out after the completion of each division at the show.

Allison & Pandora - 1st overall in 2' Hunter division & 1st place in the Finale Derby

Lillian & Arizona - 2nd overall in High/Low Hunter division & 5th place in the Finale Derby

Lucy & Romeo - 2nd overall in .75m Jumper division & 10th place in the Finale MiniPrix

Sebastian & Chico - 3rd overall in .75m Jumper division & 4th place in the Finale MiniPrix

Ola & Spirit - 1st overall in .60m Jumper division & 5th place in the Finale Miniprix

Finally chosen names for new goat and chicken. Peachy for the goat and Matcha for the chicken, she is living at North. Thank you everyone for your names, there are so many good ones but we do have many suggestions that we have already used in the past.

Congratulations to our Meadowlarke riders in qualifying in the top 3 placings in their respective divisions at Meadowlarke North Summer Series! The Finale show is on October 5th, come cheer them on!

End of summer party pics. In a beautiful setting at Meadowlarke North. We had a good time with barbeque, marshmellow roast, riding and row boat rides, Kimmy and a few others even went out on some barely inflated floaties :) Sorry I didn't get everyone in the photos, will try to do better next year and thank you for everyone who helped out !!

I have some very very sad news. Titan has passed. The vet thought it was severe colic likely a twisted bowel. He was euthanized this afternoon surrounded by people and horses who cared about him. He will be very much missed. Titan ousted Apache as herd leader shortly after his rescue in 2013. He had been a menonite buggy horse, going for slaughter because they wanted a horse that would get them into town faster. He had 12 wonderful years at Meadowlarke, we estimate that he was mid twenties and still in great shape, that is what makes all the more sad. Rest in Peace Titan

We recently rescued 3 goats and 4 chickens. The animals coming out of the food industry that are being shipped for slaughter are in such rough shape that we often have the heartbreak of either having them pass or putting them down. This latest batch of rescues from the goat milk industry and the egg laying industry were particularly sad. In the end we have one surviving goat and one surviving hen. And they need names !! We did get a bunch of suggestions from the camp kids but I look forward to yours as well 🙂 Anthea
