Snow melted several days ago. Patches that received frass seven months ago have not only survived but are regrowing. Clearly more going one here than fertilizer. Investigating impact of frass on microbiome. Will keep you posted with updates.

5.5 months after applying frass. There has been frost the past few nights. There is less daylight as winter sets in. Clearly frass improves the plant’s ability to resist.
Just an ordinary Friday at the cricket farm!
Our main hot room is about 60m2 (660sqf). In it we produce about 3,000 lbs of crickets/month and 1,800 lbs of frass/month. This is type of output that urban farming required in order to be profitable and therefor scalable.
This is how frass is made. Each bin produces five pounds of crickets and three pounds of frass, every four weeks. Those metrics are well suited for vertical farming. We’ll check out the grow out chamber next video.
Massasauga’s Bearded Dragon feeding regime starts with greens. They add roasted crickets, which the dragons recognize as food. Then they dust the food with cricket powder + propolis. This ensures that every bite provides a healthy dose of animal protein.
Massasauga Imports supplemented the greens that they feed to their frogs with cricket powder pellets. Results were: record breaking health, weight and population (due to no cannibalization). www.grylloideas.com
Right: frass applied in checkerboard pattern. Left: applied in lines. Three benefits of frass: all plants (not just grass) become thicker, all become darker green, and they grow faster. Drought resistance comparison coming soon.

Here we are laying out the checkerboard grid lines. Apply 500g of frass per square meter. Within 48-72 hours after it rains you will see a noticeable difference. The grass will turn darker green and will quickly grow to be taller than surrounding grass. #cricketfrass #thegoodsh*t www.thegoodsh*t.farm
