Meet the Trainer

Emily Walker showed mainly Hunter under Saddle in AQHA classes for most of her youth. Eventually, she made the switch to reining; her true passion. She learned the finesse of training reining horses and c**t starting with Mike Boyle in Ione, California. Mike is an Open Futurity Finalist and Prime Time Champion at the NRHA Futurity, and the 2007 National Reining Horse Association (NRHA) president. With team Boyle, she received training tips from Jordan Larson (NRHA $2 Million Dollar Rider), and traveled California & Arizona for NRHA events. Emily was voted by her peers as the 2020 Vice President of the New Brunswick Codiac Reining Association (NBCRA) for the second consecutive year.

Emily graduated with a Bachelor of Animal Science from Dalhousie University in 2016. She published her academic research in equine sport physiology through the Canadian Journal of Animal Science. She continued studies at Mount Allison University in Biochemistry. Emily spent many years working at a VECCS level II 24-hour veterinary emergency & critical care center. She is now teaches large animal nursing and other veterinary health program courses at an accredited private college. In addition, she has prepared ranch horses for year-end sales on a bison feedlot in Alberta, and traveled the rodeo circuit out west with a World Professional Chuckwagon Association (WPCA) racing team. Emily has also been a professional groom and warm-up rider at the world-renowned jumper facility; Spruce Meadows in Calgary.

Emily is currently training and coaching out of D & J Stables in Moncton, NB, owned by her mentor Don Adams. Don is a highly respected horseman and trainer of Atlantic Canada, with accomplishments including multiple AQHA all around champions, superior western pleasure, and superior halter and AQHA World Show qualifiers. Don has been the NRHA reserve Prime Time at Congress consecutively for the past 5 years. In 2012 he earned a spot in the second go of the NRHA Futurity in Oklahoma. His NRHA earnings are over $80,000 to date.
