Finally! First eggs of the season

These 4 tortoises wanting to nest have the substrate pushed aside and are trying to dig through the base of the tortoise table... they may do this for days before finally using the nesting box only 1-2’ away! 🤔

This little Greek baby settled in quickly after a trip all the way to his new home in Vancouver!

"Jasper" one of our large female Hermanns is laying now. The eggs are amazingly strong, they survive the fall and then get rolled all around by her back legs.

As my young kids would say.... "the tortoises are fighting again!"

I've been "secretly" raising this pair of Leopard tortoises. Yesterday, she began nesting behaviour in her enclosure. She is behaving very aggressive. I've built her a deep nesting site, but no actual nesting or egg laying yet. We've been hoping for a while that we may be able offer leopard tortoise babies as well! FINGERS CROSSED!!
