You get to feel good about giving your best friend a cute beneficial goody while she/he/they get to enjoy and reap in some nutrition. Buddy my son, my almost 14yo Daschund and love of my life is the reason for all of this. In March 2020 just as the pandemic started shutting things down Buddy was not acting like himself. He had difficulty breathing with an extremely elevated breathing rate. At the
Vet hospital, with much testing we learned he had an enlarged heart. Was diagnosed with congestive heart failure, heart murmur and needed oxygen for nearly three days. During that time all I did was research. Once and thankfully Buddy was released from the hospital with many medications I changed everything! I started cooking all his meals myself, baking all of his treats and continued reaching out to professionals to make sure I was doing all I could to help him and keep him as healthy and as happy as possible. After many attempts I finally made a treat he devours and takes with his medication inside with ease. His coat is shinier and he acts like a puppy again. His condition has grown to mitral valve disease and his heart has grown and is monitored daily as is his resting breathing rate. He loves to eat his homemade food and treats and I know I am doing all I can. Between the lock down keeping me secluded and my life revolving around all of his needs I realized my one pleasure was being in the kitchen for him. So I began making treats for other dogs as I know of several. This is how it all started. I take pride in making cute shaped treats that us humans can get a kick out of. Mostly I concentrate on nutritious and savory ingredients for our furry loves. I grind my own oats fresh for recipes or use whole wheat flour. Any time I can get a natural product like peanut butter I do so and I use as many local Quebec products as is possible such as syrup, blueberries, bacon etc. There are no additives and no preservatives so shelf life is less than store bought but it simply means you are holding health in your hands. I recommend keeping most products in fridge or even freezer depending on consumption. Reach out with any questions and I look forward in treating your furry companion.
