❤️My great love Raffi❤️🇨🇦
I saved my Raffi in September 2021, treated from leishmaniasis and sent to Canada for adoption on December 24, 2021. And 2 weeks after my arrival in Canada on October 13, 2023 I made it a priority to visit my little Raffi 🙂
Let me tell you how I saved little Raffi and cured him from leishmaniasis in 2021. By the way, the adopters named him Raffi after searching online for an Armenian male name.
It all started when a nursing mother dog, along with her puppies, was abandoned in the yard of a school in Aresh. One of my fellow animal lovers, Sona Gharabakhtsyan, asked me to rescue them. The photos were unbearable—an emaciated, desperate, starved mother dog with her puppies hanging from her breasts, clinging to her, trying to get milk from her starving body. Even though I was overwhelmed with animals already under my care, I couldn’t turn my back on them. That’s how Raffi, his sister Laila, and their mother Isabella came under my care. Today, the whole family is living their best life in Canada.
One day, I’ll share in more detail the difficult journey Raffi and I went through. He was only 3 months old, I had just rescued him when I noticed a strange lump in his eye. Sensing something was wrong, I rushed him to Dr. Vahe Mkrtchyan’s vet clinic for examination. My world shattered when the puppy was diagnosed with leishmaniasis. I cried out in despair, and Dr. Vahe’s assistant, Anahit, was trying to comfort me, telling me this wasn’t the first case—she had already seen how I cured another four dogs from that disease. Raffi was so small, innocent, and kind, yet his face was becoming covered in deep wounds as each day passed. I wasted no time, ordered the medicine from Germany and started the pup’s treatment. I treated him with care, as though he were my child, and he would fall asleep in my lap as I nursed him back to health. I'll never forget Raffi sleeping in my arms, curled around my neck like a scarf.
I want to express my heartfelt gratitude to Paola, who never gave up on Raffi, even after his diagnosis. She trusted me, patiently waiting two months while I treated him before sending him to Montreal with cargo service. Paola continued the treatment I started for the next year, giving Raffi so much love and beautiful, happy life in Canada.
Thank you to my friend Liana for sending the expensive medicine Milteforan from Germany, dear Liana, you have always helped me to get drugs that are not available in Armenia, and I’m forever thankful.
Thanks to my animal loving friend Kima for helping me financially.
Thanks to Sona, for reaching out to me as soon as she saw that abandoned family and asked for help.
Finally, thank you to everyone who helps animals.
P.S. I share both old and new photos and videos. ❤️
