We are looking for another evening/weekend person!

Are you hard working and have a love for animals? Are you thinking of a career in the field of animal health? You may be just who we’re looking for!

The Moose Jaw Animal Clinic is currently looking to hire for a weekend staff position. It is a part time position that will require you to work certain Saturdays, Sundays and Thursday evenings.

A good deal of this job involves cleaning as cleanliness is just as important in an animal hospital as it is in a human hospital…our patients just tend to be a bit messier! You would be responsible for cleaning kennels, equipment, food dishes, laundry as well as general building cleaning.

But that’s not all!

You would also be responsible to ensure patients are walked outside for bathroom breaks throughout the day and ensure that patients receive their designated meals. We have a variety of different patients that you will undoubtedly encounter which have included everything from cats and dogs to calves.

This is an excellent job for anyone thinking about becoming a veterinarian or veterinary technician as it will provide a window into what those careers entail. Must have a valid drivers license.

On call availability will continue to be limited.

A Doctor will be available (unless on another call):

Monday-Wednesday: 8AM - 10PM
Thursday: 8AM - 9PM
Friday: NO DOCTOR ON CALL
Saturday: 8AM - 6PM
Sunday: VERY LIMITED

Times subject to change if Doctor is not available.

If there is no Doctor available you will have to call another clinic.
South Saskatchewan Animal Hospital is available 24 hours in Regina, they can be reached at 306-761-1449.

New update!!

Updates to CDC’s August 1 dog importation rule: If you are bringing a dog into the US from a dog rabies-free or low-risk country, you now only need to fill out the simple CDC Dog Import Form. Other forms are no longer needed. The requirements for dogs arriving from high-risk countries have not changed, and these dogs are still required to have additional documents. We are up and running again!

As of right now our computer system is down, we are trying to get reconnected. As of right now we are not accepting appointments for today, filling medications, etc.

It is with profound sadness that we share that our Dr Jeremy Janzen lost his battle with cancer December 23, 2023.

Dr Janzen arrived at Moose Jaw Animal Clinic as a newly graduated DVM in 2010 and spent his entire career with our veterinary family. Brimming with a wealth of knowledge, he loved to talk with clients about ALL things veterinary related…But what not everyone got to see was Dr Janzen’s deep compassion for all animals. It was not unusual for him to be seen taking a sick kitten home for extra care, or scooping up a scared dog for a big hug. He would often meet clients after hours for a quick check up to see how a patient was doing, or to help them administer medication to less than cooperative dog or cat…. Jeremy embraced being a veterinarian in every sense of the word, and dedicated his life to his career.

He became our work-brother/crazy uncle/annoying Jimmy Gordon. He rarely missed a potluck or a lunch-and-learn. His desk was a constant source of lost files. But we had many laughs, and will always cherish his sheepish smile and his unique sense of humour.

We are extremely grateful for the time we had with him and beyond sad that he is no longer with us….
