We have 3 parking stalls to serve you as you drop off and pick up your furry family members.

* just like the inside of the building come spring the outside of the building will be getting a full overhaul, and new signs of course *

Yesterday I got to meet Thor, and well Thor is prop one of the happiest boys around. He also does a fantastic job and sit and shake a paw. If you’re looking for a new large family member please contact the Humane Society and set up a time to meet Thor 🐾♥️

♥️Spike Grooming will be closed today♥️

After many many months of WESK helping us along the the way of planning out our expansion, we get to show them all of our hard work.

I am very excited to show Amanda our new space, and some of our favourite spots and people of Moose Jaw.

If you yourself or if you have a women entrepreneur in your life, I highly recommend looking into WESK, the long list of services and support systems in play to help the overwhelming part of busienss.

Our nail trim dates this week are :

Tuesday February 11th 9-5
Saturday Feb 15th 12-4
* cash only all proceeds to thee MJ Humane Society

We will be closed February 14th ♥️

We have some availability for February Break, we understand that families are busy and we have re arranged a few things to be open from Feb 18th to the 22nd with morning and afternoon availability for certain breeds.

Spike isn’t missing a thing in the new shop, I joke that he will loose another 8-10 lbs before Spring as he’s getting many steps in each day 🐾 leaves us asking eachother “ where is spike now “ … hes got SO much space.

Our first 2 days of taking clients has been extremely rewarding, giving short tours of the new shop, discussing the new business ventures coming and the massive upgrade Spike & Friends has gotten all in order to serve our clients.

The girls and I and likely Spike have had a few pinch me moments … we work here … and we are SO very proud of how far we have come.

When I got the opportunity to be apart of a custom built shop for Spike Grooming, which is allowing us to expand in a way I previously had only hoped for. I had a business plan in play with a vision of expanding grooming, and bringing a boarding facility to Moose Jaw that offers something different for your furry family members ( we will be loosely booking boarding for March 1st please have patience as we get ready to launch our new unique services ).

The number one thought I had was all about transparency. Grooming is an unregulated industry as is boarding. From the moment you pull up to leave your furry family member with Spike & Friends you can see right into the grooming salon. Upon entering it’s a gallery window followed by a second door for added security, into a lobby where you have a full 360 view of the grooming salon. In an industry where the client can’t talk for themselves, we want to do everything we can about ensuring they will have the best care, in a safe realistic time frame. We want to do everything we can to show pet parents that we hold ourselves to very high standards and at Spike & Friends we take a lot of pride in our work and our reputation. So that brings us back to Transparency.

The “ quick “ move came as a surprise to customers. I want to assure you there were no hasty calls made regarding our custom build. It was all contracted work, and has been in the works for many consecutive months. I do know those tradesman worked some long hours getting the space ready for the community. In the end for me myself and I, that’s what this facility is for. I personally want you and your dog to be comfortable about your time with us. Sometimes no matter what we do, or don’t do some animals just don’t like it. In this case, my goal is to instill trust between our human customers and all our groomers. Having a wide open shop you not only have the ability to see every step in our process, you have the ability to see in our shop from the parking lot.

We are fortunate we have so many clients who trust us on a regular basis, respect our policies, value our time, and value our salon policy of Humanity over Vanity. We are sometimes the voice for the animal's sore ear, loose toe nail, large lump the owner may have missed. This is something that we take great pride in. Myself and my staff are very good at what we do and we truly do love it.

I am very excited to open the doors to our new location. I'm more excited for the community to see what we have coming next for Spike & Friends, excited for our next nail trim event, and excited about our future continuing to support and love the community of Moose Jaw and surrounding area !

Spike & Friends Pet Services is expanding, and we’re looking for a skilled and passionate groomer to join our team! If you love working with animals and take pride in providing top-notch grooming services, we’d love to hear from you.

Requirements:

Minimum of 1 year of grooming experience (please specify whether you are self-taught or trained at an academy, including the name of the academy if applicable).

Ability to work as part of a team and contribute to a positive work environment.

Comfortable grooming all breeds of dogs.

Willingness to volunteer a minimum of 3 hours per month for our charity causes.

Employment Opportunities:

Groomer Employee: Ideal for those looking to build a clientele while working in a supportive team environment.

Table Rental Option: Available for groomers with an established clientele who are looking for a new location with a team atmosphere.

Pay structure will be discussed during the interview process.

There has been a lot of thought and attention to every detail about expanding Spike as a business. With those weeks of planning I listened to and watched my staff. Having a healthy / honest relationship with my staff is something that is very important to me.

I am very excited to announce that Makailah with my blessing is transitioning into her own business with a table rental here at Spike & Friends Pet Services Inc.

What does this mean ?

That while Makailah is still working under the business umbrella of Spike & Friends Pet Services Inc. She is now an independent groomer, able to develop her own business model. Makailah will work directly with her clients on scheduling their grooming services.

Makailah is a fantastic groomer and I am very proud of her for taking on her own table and I am excited to watch her grow.

Holy oodles the phone has been busy !

🙌 Yes 🙌 we are accepting new clients.

We have a long list of clients who are pre booked for the year, please keep this in mind when booking. We are a busy salon, but we are also extremely efficient.

We are currently booking for the 2nd week of February. After your first or second apt with us we strongly encourage you to get your dog on a schedule. This can help you wallet, and your dog become more comfortable and confident with grooming. Many dogs would benefit from a 6-8-10-12 weeks . Many double coated dogs should be done once a season, the oodles on Moose Jaw anywhere between 8 and 10 weeks depending on your desired length. The shizus / lap size are close to 6 to 10 weeks, again depending on desired look. When you pre booked apts we know ( ish ) what overgrowth we are dealing with. This allows us to book accordingly and save you money. Pre booked apts come with a set price, allowing you to budget for your furry family member. We value our clients and we understand how budgeting especially now matters more then ever.

Spike is busy packing his things for the big move!

Our donation total to the Moose Jaw Humane Society is, $1,407 for the month of January!

Due to the move to our new facility, our next walk-in nail trim day won't be until Tuesday Feb 11th. Please watch our page for posted days and times for our walk-in nail trims, we post these dates and times every monday.

We'll be holding our next nail trim event on Tuesday Feb 25th! A sincere thank you goes out to everyone who supports our events, and our grooming salon in general!
