Welcome March!!!
Well the weather is up and down and I’m not sure if spring is coming or if it’s just fooling us right now. Some updates are as follows:

It’s too cold yet to breed rabbits as the barn is still quite chilly. I have many does to get bred, busy making a list of whom.

Anticipating the return to show life this year, if our bonehead prime minister lifts travel restrictions and makes going to the US feasible and not so costly.

Some changes coming to the rabbitry this year!! I am Dispersing the French Lops. It is long overdue. I have been contemplating doing so for the last two years. Lightening of the work load is a must and with the rising cost of living these days, something has to give. A few favorites will stick around but the bulk of the herd will be going.

I have decided to continue and take over the mini Rex portion of the rabbitry from my daughter Katherine. She decided last year that she was done with rabbits. I do enjoy having them in the rabbitry and it will give me something to show while we wait patiently for the approval of the Velveteen Lops into ARBA. And let’s be honest, there are some gorgeous bunnies in that bunch!!

And of course the Velveteen Lops will continue to be the front most breed in my rabbitry. I am seeing lots of improvement each year and will continue to work on them.

I will update my page more frequently now that spring is approaching. I hope the weather is getting better where you are although I’m not looking forward to the mud season!!
