HorseFeathers Farm
New stalls getting ready for boarders near Mount Forest π
a pretty evening at the farm.
I wanted to break down the board for people.
We're always happy to keep it transparent.
What's included in the board?
How do you come up with a sustainable cost?
Our board is $650/month.
We have a hybrid system, each horse has a stall and is stabled as per their needs. Some will be outdoors 95%of the time, some will be stabled at night in winter, some may need a stall more often. Their health and needs are address as individuals.
It includes a dry stall fee of $140/month.
This is a stall, pasture space, sand ring, driveway maintenance, tack storage etc.
Consumables are on average $360/month/horse
Shavings in stalls and shelter, Hay (small square bales), grain, hay ration balancer, salt, probiotics, oil, first aid supplies, lineaments, fly sprays, shampoo, detainglers, hoof oil, hoof packing, poultice, saddle soaps and lotions, horse cookies,
We provide these so that it's easy for you to visit your horse and the care is seamless
Service fee built in is $5/day. This is $150/month. This is our time spent to feed and health check your horse, bring in and out as needed for graining or vet or farrier, clean the stall, shelter, mow paddocks, refill hay feeders etc.
Our goal is a happy, fair and sustainable horse environment.
