The New Year often brings new fur babies! Did you know that at 8-11 weeks of age, puppies go through a Fear Period? Any traumatic, frightening, or unenjoyable experience could have lasting effects on your puppy.

The most influential period of your puppies life will be from 3-12 weeks. This is exactly why we recommend starting training as soon as you bring your puppy home! Giving them structure, consistency and boundaries will make puppyhood more enjoyable for everyone.

Introducing our newest training program, Happy Vet Visits. To say we're excited is an understatement!
With a veterinary medicine background, we understand how upsetting and frustrating it is to owners when their dog exhibits extreme anxiety in the veterinary office. Veterinary visits are necessary for every dog, whether they are frequent flyers or seen once a year, they all deserve to have stress-free visits.
This program is designed to help dogs manage stress and anxiety during veterinary visits. It includes a combination of in-home training to develop essential skills and on-site lessons at your veterinary hospital. We will collaborate with your veterinarian to create a tailored plan to ensure success. Additionally, we will accompany you to the veterinary office for training sessions to reinforce positive behaviors in the real-world setting.

Something we've been saying a lot recently...

Many owners don't acknowledge that words don't mean anything to our dogs until we give them a meaning! You can yell "Buddy come!" all you want but if you haven't taken the time to teach them what those words mean, they're not going to succeed!

In order for our dogs to be successful, we need to teach them commands before we actually need to use the command. Going outside and expecting them to have a responsive recall, walk nicely on a leash, or even sit without practicing it first is like making them take a test they haven't studied for.

Teaching your dog a new command in a calm and quiet environment is absolutely necessary before you try it in any new or stimulating environment.

In 2024 I lost my bestfriend of 16.5 years, the dog who showed me my passion for animals, inspired my career and changed my life forever. I hope to continue to honour Mya through AYM for many years to come. I was also lucky enough to meet a ton of amazing dogs and their amazing owners. Seeing the love and passion that owners have for their dogs is so inspiring, I still can't believe I get to be apart of that! 2024 was filled with a ton of training, clinic work, life changes, and new friends. Does it get any cooler than this guy!? Milo has been with us for a couple weeks now, enrolled in our Loose Leash Program! He's just so excited about life, he feels like he needs to pull his owners to get there faster! Milo is learning that walks are far more enjoyable without pulling and that his parents are exciting and rewarding! Did you know that we use no tools for our Loose Leash Program? Just the flat collar and leash you already own.
