EDIT * CAMP FULL* Advanced Camp Starting August 7th-9th. This year we have already been having so much fun learning in our camps but this one will be more of a challenge with a competition on the last day. This is only advanced camp this year and only available to a student who has been to camp before or has previous riding lessons. There will be horsemanship on the ground, horse health, bitless/tack free riding, obstacles (ridden and on foot) and more!

I have ran camps 9am-1pm mostly in the past but this year was very hot during some camps and we decided as a group to run it 8am-12pm to avoid some heat exhaustion.

JULY 3-5 *Trail Camp
JULY 17-19 *Boys Only
JULY 24-26
AUGUST 7-9 *Experienced Rider Camp
AUGUST 21-23

ABSOLUTE BEGINNER CAMP Max 4 kids
-for students who are completely new to horses
- students who have ridden less than 6 times
- students who are nervous
- those who require more time to learn

First Ever BOYS ONLY CAMP Max 6-8 kids
-A boys camp because often the boys are outnumbered by girls!
-All ranges of experience welcome

TRAIL RIDING CAMP Max 4-5 kids
-Basic horse care skills
-Basic Horsemanship for trail riding
-All levels welcome
-Our last day includes a trail ride to Box Lake where parents often meet us for a picnic and a swim

EXPERIENCED RIDERS CAMP Max 4-5 kids
- Students will work horses on the ground and under saddle.
-This camp will have worksheets and quizzes! -Private riding lessons plus group activities
-Last day will be an obstacle course/relay race with activities to test their knowledge and skills.
-This is not for beginners!

Also looking for helpers with camps! Horse experience is a plus but mostly all you need is experience with kids and love the outdoors!

Hello Everyone of Nakusp and surrounding areas!! I know winter has just returned but it is not going to stop me planning for Spring!!!

A few exciting things happening this year:

We will be doing a grand re-opening/ Open house for our animal boarding facility (when weather is favorable again) we can board more than just dogs!

We will also be opening our DIY doggy grooming area. Towels are provided and I'm hoping to find someone local who would be into creating some doggy shampoo and conditioner! Let me know if you or someone you know can make some non-chemical pet soaps.

In addition to my farrier services I have also been offering nail trims for ALL pets with nails/claws/hooves. I do not have time to do full grooming but have the facility if someone would like that job I can provide the space.

NEW THIS YEAR: I am currently working with a few close friends to develop day retreats for trauma survivors or anyone who needs to heal. It will be completely confidential and private. What we hope to include:
Equine therapy/riding lesson/trail ride
Energy work
Forest walks
Paddleboarding/kayaking
*lessons provided if needed
One on one OR group counseling
* I'm still looking into who or how to arrange this so please let me know if you know what I need to do.
Yoga and Meditation
And at the end of the day a massage treatment of your choice from the lovely Lisa Coleman. *I can provide a separate list of her services to choose from.

We would like to start off with one day for now and offer the first 4 applicants a discounted rate for being the first group.

Last but not least!! Kids horse camps are going to change slightly so that each rider has their own horse and no one has to share (unless they need to for personal reasons). This means more riding time and more responsibility!

Summer camp dates will be posted soon also.

Hoping to do a spring break camp. Please let me know if your kid would like 3 or 4 days of spring horse camp this year and I'll make it happen! Need a minimum of only 4 kids. Mud or rain or snow. We will make it work.

Adult lessons available too. It's never too late to learn something new!

“Here’s why a horse not being strong enough through their core is not the whole picture… 💭”

I posted this diagram and caption about a year ago, and the journey I’ve been on through the horses body and releases has been nothing short of mind-blowing… and I’m still piecing everything together.

I am super excited that today I am starting a neurology dissection course where I am going to look in far more depth at real tissue that I have been adjusting and feeling in a different way primarily over the last few months.

Seeing the horses body through a whole new lens has allowed me to experiment with my fingers and actually create a number of different new release techniques to target the real cause behind a lot of these patterns in the picture.

Once I can gather my thoughts into words, I am sure that I will share with you all… but for now I’m enjoying this explorative journey and finding out new things each day for our beautiful horses 🥰
